  1. This is a good point, I think most people see a former Husker with a lot of W's and that's all they need to see to get worked up about him. I was a late comer to the party. It was more of a relenting thing. Somebody has to be coach, so why not him? He's who everyone seems to want, I can't think of anyone better so that's cool.
  2. Bohl seems to have the same make-up of just about every coach under the TO/Solich tree (including Solich) in that they are good at developing the kids they get but either don't like or aren't great at recruiting. They seem to thrive at lower levels of CFB be it non-P5 or 1AA where they can find overlooked guys (another trait they all seem to possess) and coach them up/make them better
  3. As long as the squirrel thing was your idea, you still win imo.
  4. It was @knapplc screenplay in response that had me doing a spit take on my monitor. I will now use "A SQUIRREL APPEARS" whenever and however I can in my day to day life.
  5. From the opposite perspective, even if Nebraska came calling, if I'm Craig Bohl I remember being run out of town pitchforks and torches chasing after me. I instead I extend a very specific finger and say "thanks but no thanks".
  6. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who still in it to the end. Now basketball is still perplexing. Kent was talking about people leaving the game while the huskers were only up 2 possession with 4 minutes left...I just don't get it.
  7. Yeah to me it just sounded like a way to avoid using the "C" word without actually using it. I hope he's alright and they don't put him out there if he's not 100% healthy and no risk of further damage.
  8. I really don't understand what good firing Riley now does besides satiating some sort of blood lust. I'm going to watch the last two games, he should have to too and we're still paying him and will be for how many years after he's gone? So might as well keep him to the end. Yeah I get the coaches are fighting but so what? At least it's entertaining. I'm not trying to start an argument, I just legitimately don't understand what the positive is.
  9. I had nachos during that game. They were good at least.
  10. I started the year surrounded by family and snacks for the first game. Now I sit here alone getting ready for kickoff, the rest of the fam. out shopping (quitters :-). I will never miss a game, win or lose.
  11. Thing I wish I would remember roughly this time next year. Don't buy Halloween mixed bags that have "Whoopers" in them. That's all we have left, apparently everyone hates them.

I'm with you C N Red! Whoppers are the best.  They remind me of real chocolate malts.

You let the kids pick? Rookie mistake. Kids are candy experts, of course they go for the good stuff first.

I can offload them for ya if you're interested. Don't care for them myself, but my father-in-law loves the hell out of them.

  12. Have to root against Miami because of the wife but also can't let Carr have a good game either and yet again I also have Crabtree...... Should be a fun Sunday night game.
  13. I'm sure it's a mixed bag, but I saw a team that acted dead during the prayer before the tunnel walk. First time I ever saw anything like it was a couple weeks earlier before the Ohio State game, that was the deadest tunnel walk I've ever seen. But I agree with the original poster, no reason to be brutal to anyone. Perhaps everything those kids are going through is why some of them look like they are just going through the motions.
  14. NIU for me too. I took that game the hardest. That game eliminated the last glimmer of hope as far as what we had as a team. As far as I was concerned it eliminated us from bowl eligibility, really the bare minimum of what I wanted this season. After that I thought Wisky would be closer than it ended up being but I didn't think we were gonna win, so not that hard to take. OSU I knew would be bad so it was more of a dentist appointment than a game, again, saw it coming just a matter of how bad it would be.
  15. Should have started Ginn, otherwise I'm happy with things so far this week. Gamble on D worked out better than I thought it would.
  16. Got it. I'm ordering a semi-load of Amigos Fish Tacos for their locker room.
  17. I appreciate the optimism of the OP. Don't ever lose that! It makes up for all us other sinners who can only see the darker outcomes (such as myself). I learned the hard way after going 7-0 last year and then almost beating Wisky only to be spanked back to earth by OSU. One game at a time. The Illinois game is exciting because I think we can actually win it, it's gonna be hard once we get to Ohio State/Penn State etc. But I'll be there, whether it be 8-0 down the stretch or 0-8.
  18. Yes, I'm hoping if we do get Frost he breaks the cycle. Just pointing out how amazingly cyclical we have been since Oz retired.
  19. I don't know anything about brain proteins or whatever but I too have wondered about a control group. Surely they're looking at brains from non-contact subjects for a control right?
