OLB Kaden Johnson [Wisconsin - Signed LOI]

Trollin' Trollin' Trollin'......"Ryan Burns" wants his attention growin'..... -
Even the Gators under Ron Zook, Will Muschamp, and Jim McElwain were very mediocre at times.

Texas A&M never won anything in the Big XII, let alone the SEC. Probably the most delusional fanbase in all of college football. R.C. Slocum, Dat Nguyen, Manziel/Evans is the Aggie legacy. I'd say, much like Arizona State and Maryland, one of the most underachieving college football programs in college football history with the recruiting footprint and resources available.

Miami losing to Florida International, coached by Butch Davis, was absolutely hilarious.

Where's Nebraska? B1G Bowls.
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to Hooked on Huskers's topic in Husker Football
I might be that way too and incredibly excited in a year if my school was in the running to win a title in football and men's basketball. The two biggest attention-getting revenue earning sports in the NCAA. It doesn't come around very often anywhere. Would be a heck of an accomplishment for the Buckeyes. Winning over LSU in New Orleans is going to be mighty difficult though. They might set a record for most alcohol consumed in one day at a sporting event. -
Wasn't there a rumors/throwing crap against the wall/gossip section of Huskerboard? This should belong there.

Glad no staff movement this offseason

Yep, good point, nothing will happen before then. -
Nebraska- a desireable job
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to Boy of the Corn's topic in Husker Football
Does it matter? Bill is 68. I imagine it might be his last job anyway. The people of Nebraska and 'Husker fans wanted Frost and he got Frost to hitch his wagon to. If it doesn't work he will ride off into the sunset an independently wealthy man who hired the man the fans wanted. -
Two Nebraska players enter NCAA Transfer Portal

If the University didn't bend for Avery Moss, these guys are unlikely to see the field anyway. Something, something, consequences for actions and poor decision-making -
Yep, sounds like the speculation is he will remain the QB coach

The Say Something Nice About Iowa Thread
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to PaulCrewe's topic in Husker Football
Des Moines has a good summer concert scene, the Englert theater is nice in Iowa City. They were very progressive in being one of earliest adopters striking down bans on interracial marriage and welcoming marriage equality. A pork tenderloin sandwich in the state is usually second to none anywhere. Iowa 80 largest truckstop in the world? Iowa HS players like Trev Alberts that have chosen to cross the river and play for DONU. -
Yes, I state that because if many seats were empty to begin with and it was building towards half empty by half time that it supports the fact that corporate interests "saved the bacon" in buying tickets that were never going to be occupied by people in the first place. IMO, as a 'Husker fan the sellout streak is as legit and organic as Donald Trump Jr.'s book sales. There were artificial means used in keeping it afloat. If it has to be propped up by boosters and corporate interests the streak is meaningless.
-
I've heard lots of chatter over the years about 2007 Oklahoma State broke the streak. It was boosters and corporate interests as favors to the program propping it up that day. If I remember correctly nearly half the stadium was empty before the second half. The score being what it was, who could blame them?

What if we BEAT Maryland?
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to cornhuskers4ever's topic in Husker Football
5-6 and there would be a lot of fans excited and hopeful with one more win to book winter travel to Detroit or New York. I'd push for Detroit because the game would be indoors. -
Yep, Purdue and Maryland is what this season has come down to. Have to win both to make a bowl. It is very unlikely they can topple Wisconsin or Iowa, as sad as it is to type those words. Ah well, Quick Lane or Pinstripe is still better than missing out altogether.

Attrition apparently already starting.

NU vs. Indiana by the numbers today UPDATED
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to beorach's topic in Husker Football
Could be, but Maryland QBs also seem to turn the ball over as well. Not to the level of Rutgers but....Speaking of Maryland, I can't imagine talking about 'Husker football in 1994 and someone telling me that Maryland vs. Nebraska would be a conference game 25 years later. Still just seems strange. -
Huskers to Play Illinois in Ireland in ... 2022?
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
Yep, I remember reading Bill Snyder wanted K-State sitting on one side of the plane for a "competitive advantage" as both teams traveled together. -
OWH: Should we be doubting Frost?
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to B.B. Hemingway's topic in Husker Football
How is Bo doing at Youngstown State? He had a very good season and made the title game when he first got there and has been pretty middling since then. I figure if he comes back to FBS, he will have to start as a DC somewhere. -

Matt seems be enjoying his time in Las Vegas now. He's a solid follow on Twitter IMO. -

Bo Pelini, the sellout streak, leaving the Big XII for the Big Ten, pie in the sky coordinator hires, are we sure this isn't the offseason? -
I think you have a point. I'm not going to be super critical until he has his 4 or 5 year recruiting classes in place. At the same time look at what Matt Rhule has done at Baylor in two years. They were a smoldering trash fire after the awful Briles scandal, about as low as you can be.
-
Also, I believe it was reported that UF was not willing to let Frost bring all of his assistants to Gainesville. I think they made a fantastic hire in Mullen so it probably worked out well for them. I can see the decline in MSU with Moorhead at the helm.

*** Official Minnesota Game Thread ***
DrinkinwitTerrellFarley replied to Mavric's topic in Husker Football
Trolling for attention? How original! They passed the first test of four against Northwestern to attain bowl eligibility. I'd hope for at least to win 2 of 3 from the remainder of Minnesota, Indiana, and Purdue. I'd like to win all three and beat Maryland so they can get a better bowl than Yankee Stadium in December. I wonder how many would travel for that?
