  1. UCLA is a good team, not great, but good. If we beat them I feel good about going into the off-season. We lose and meh, at least we got to see one more Nebraska game before the years end.
  2. It's actually a good match-up and it will be interesting to see many things in this game. Most looking to see how the defense, now healthy and with some depth, does against a good UCLA offense. Should be a good test for Banker. Also see how the offense does with the month long practice prep for this game against an injury riddled UCLA defense. I like Nebraska winning this one, as Jim Mora is to UCLA as Bo was to Nebraska. Guy just wins about 8-9 games a year, nothing more, nothing less. His teams tend to stall in the second half of the season.
  3. Given the state of the Nebraska football program, I would gladly accept Scott Frost to be our head coach any day and give him whatever time he needed to coach here. He's so young that he can only learn and grow in the position and he could be here for a long time, which is very rare these days in college football. Invest in the young coach and watch him grow. Will he fall short? Absolutely, but like I along with many others have stated, I will take a Frost 5-7 Nebraska team over a 5-7 Riley team. Why? Because Frost is 40 and Riley is 62. Riley is what he is, Frost can grow and learn and get better. Also, Frost being so young I could look at 5 years down the road and be excited about what he has built. 5 years down the road with Riley and he's retired. I am excited to see how UCF does, and will most definitely follow UCF football. I expect Frost to be at Nebraska in 2 years. Hopefully he has built a good recruiting ground in Florida by then. Oh and I see his first hire with his staff is a former Nebraska football player. He very well could reunite former Nebraska players, ultimately with the goal of all of them returning to coach at their school.
  4. At this moment I don't need championships, I would just be satisified to be relevant in the college football world in the month of November.
  5. Everything I have been hearing out West here is just how much potential is in the UCF job. Newer facilities, good backing from adminstration, new money coming in. Basically the complete opposite of what Miami has done with their program the last 10 years. So you wonder, we are all expecting this as a stepping stone for Frost and for him to be in Lincoln in about 2 years. But by that time will Frost even want to come here? He could be on his way to building UCF into a power, without the stress and expectations of Nebraska.
  6. You do everything you did here, but instead he should have given an enormous tip. The waiter would have felt like garbage.
  7. Somehow Oregon retains their assistants for years and years, and they dont even get paid that well. I see Frost staying at Oregon for awhile, and especially possibly for the next 2 years so he can coach against Nebraska.
  8. I very much dislike Wisconsin.
  9. Not quiet sure why the Big12 couldnt keep a North/South rivalry consistent each year? Maybe there is a valid reason but why not have a game vs a North/South every year. Such as; Nebraska/Oklahoma Iowa State/Baylor Texas/Missouri Colorado/Texas Tech Kansas State/Oklahoma State Texas A&M/Kansas make these annual cross division rivalries each year.
  10. I do miss Colorado the day after Thanksgiving, but that is simply because of nostalgia for me. I think the Iowa rivalry has great potential, and we could have really made that rivalry click this year by derailing their season. I just have this feeling if Nebraska was ever in the position as #4 going into the Iowa game, our luck is the Hawkeyes upset us and ruin our season. I miss some games during some times of the year. But again all for nostalgie purposes. I dont think we held any form of power at the conference table during the later years. As of 2002 we could no longer control the North division and the North was awful. Now we are in the B1G West, and quiet frankly, it is eerily similar to the Big 12 North division. Nebraska has a great opportunity to control this division and go to CCG's year after year, just like we expected in the Big 12 North.
  11. you know it is funny. Banker got a terrible rap for most the year and we kept hearing from coaches we had a large amount of injuries. We started getting those players healthy again, developed depth and our defense really showed up and performed the last 3 games of the season. So now suddenly im confused with Banker.
  12. Did Hackenberg start right away? He seems to be just fine, flaws in areas, but better than Nebraska has had in almost 8 years. True, the incoming QB recruit is always hyped and the supposed next best thing, but these days more and more Freshman QBs are coming in and are ready to take over the helm immediately. Why? I would think it is because of the countless hours and months these youth football programs are putting into kids. Kids these days are eating, sleeping, breathing football, and I am sure you have phenom youth QBs who are groomed their entire lives for the moment to come in and take over a program. It's just like you never use to see Rookie QBs get the start right away on their NFL team, and when they did you didn't see success. Well that is slowing changing. Is POB the next best thing? Like others have stated, its a glimmer of hope for the '16 season. So until he throws his first INT, this kid is the next Peyton Manning.
  13. It would take too long to grade and explain each grade of this coaching staff. To put it simply, these guys would be attending Summer school.
  14. He beat Michigan State. We have him for at least 1 more year.
  15. He will probably go there, TCU will fit his needs and he will be in the heisman running. Our luck.
  16. Hm, what exactly does this add? Is he a great recruiter? Is he really any better than the coordinators we have now?
  17. Those wanting to run the ball more, Langsdorf and Riley dont do that. If we threw the ball a lot this year with a QB no capable of throwing the football, just wait until we get a capable QB of throwing the football. Nebraska will throw the ball more as the years go on, prepare yourselves.
  18. What is this USC hiring Mike Riley or even wanting Mike Riley? This isn't 2001. This is 14 years later. Meaning Mike Riley isnt a 48 year old coach with a lot of momentum.
  19. I waited 4 years for T-Mart to better his throwing mechanics. They never did. I've waited 3 years for Armstrong to better his throwing mechanics, they haven't so far.
  20. Here's an idea. Let's go away from Adidas all together. Their uniforms are trash and that thread design just looks odd. No Adidas uniforms are cool, and most Adidas schools are going away from it. I am shocked Miami (FL) went to Adidas and that company has ruined the Hurricanes unis. They have somehow even messed up the iconic U on their helmets, that thing just looks oddly placed now.
  21. I got off the fire Mike Riley train after the win vs MSU. But i think it would be awesome if Nebraska hired Les Miles.
  22. I dont see the need for much overreaction from this game. Simply put, Tommy Armstrong made terrible decisions and Iowa played a really good game.
