I think a homerun threat running back will be important as well. If Stanley sticks around I think we have enough at WR with Spielman and Lindsey. Our current RBs won’t cut it I think

Yards per game isn’t all that important. They were 53rd in scoring defense and 5th in takeaways. I’ll take an aggressive defense that forces turnovers any day of the week. The B1G West isn’t known for explosive offenses, turnovers are important. Would be nice to have 29 takeaways (UCF) vs 12 (UNL)

I don’t understand the player must weigh X lbs to take hits. UCFs leading rusher weighs 155 and their other freshman running back weighs 164. Gebbia would run far less and would like slide or run out of bounds most of the time. I think he will be fine if he starts.

Do any of them know how to setup blocks for a punt return? That would be quite nice.

If I remember right, it was between Phillips and Stoltenberg. Coaches liked Stoltenbergs versatility and motor more? Something like that or they just said that because they couldn’t flip Phillips

We are literally within reasonable reach within 3-5 years to be a more potent version of 2017 Wisconsin. Being in the CFP discussion year in and year out. Focus on decimating the B1G West and plenty of opportunities will arise for the big red in the future.

If Frost were going to stay, I would think we would’ve known awhile ago. He has an extension sitting on the table. If he wanted to clear all distractions he would’ve signed and announced such. I suppose he could be stringing UNL a long until the last possible minute but I think Moos would’ve asked for some reassurances or else he would’ve offered to someone like Fuente by now if he thought Frost was leaning on staying.

I wonder if the wimpy Diaco defense and cornerback play style had a hand in him cooling from Nebraska. Maybe the right DC could sway him back. He at least enjoyed his time in Lincoln and has some draw to UNL (albeit Riley was a huge factor)

Spielman is an absolute must keep. Hope the next coach can hang onto him.
