Just a question... I was surfing this morning for anything that was B1G related baseball. Youtube has several college posts from virtually every conference but the B1G (even the btn youtube channel has zero coverage of baseball).. This caused me to reflect on my enthusiasm in Nebraska athletics over the years and my conclusion is, since joining the B1G, I'm simply less interested. The B1G has created a platform that is costly to the fans and profitable for their investors. There's little (if any) concern for the communities. Zero concern for the fans and what compounds it even more is the total lack of inclusion of the fans resulting in my gradual decent of enthusiastic fandome. Curious if others here agree?

As for as BTN is concerned I'm probably a little opposite of your experience. Never have to worry about a football game not being aired and I get all the NU volleyball games I want. Of course I'm not a baseball fan and I can see where their coverage of that is lacking.
If anything has caused my interest to decline, it would be the football team's performance issues dating back 20 years. There's plenty I don't like about the B1G conference and/or BTN but considering our teams had comparitively very limited coverage before joining the B1G, I won't complain.
As far as baseball goes, the B1G is more of a northern league and baseball is more of a southern thing so I don't find them shortchanging coverage to be that surprising. But like I say, I don't really care about baseball.

Loving our Ladies programs. Skill, courage, unity, toughness, determination, focus and all for one. Our men's programs have none of that. To many golden boys under achieving and not committing to each other.
Ladies Motto: Team first
Men's Motto: Me first

Matt Rhule, Dude can breath fire!! This quote of his (taken from the 247 write up) has me juiced!! (especially the bolded)
Quote"That they were just in the moment, instead of feeling sad that they just drove the ball down, they went out there and they just played. It wasn’t effort, as much as it was like, ‘What’s next? Play the next play. Just keep playing.’ And that’s what I’m talking about, like, don’t worry about what happens at the end of the year, don’t worry about what people are saying about you, don’t worry about the score, just play football. You’re a Cornhusker, play football."

Mickey is awesome!!! His comment to Casey "you throw with your right"... I laughed and thought "yep, that's the mentality of a Osborne option QB" So refreshing to listen to a coach that is so comfortable in his plan. Cordial, Caring, Inviting, Genuine, Respectful but Real... Love listening to Mickey speak.

My head hurts from reading just 2 threads in the football subgroup. My gosh, how can people find the time to post so much self opinion? Do we have hash out the entire play by play of what was a very disappointing season?
-
@The Dude ... now that is the perfect response.. to the point and funny both

Not the New Word of the Day but very fitting:
Now, let's all pretend that none of us have ever experienced even one of these traits/symtoms/signs... lol, Sadly, I experience at least one every hour..

Please keep Carriker Family in your hearts and prayers. I think his heart surgery is today.

So here I am, on my work computer like so many others on this board. I'm looking at the ads and what they're advertising. I have an Allied Power Ad a Westlake Ace add, a Seeds ad and then.... about 15 different womens clothing ads. Guess we know what sex abuses the internet at work more. (At least where I work.) lol

Sometimes it's just hard to be positive especially when this world is so Upside Down!! Man it'd be nice to see a husker baseball victory this weekend. I'd settle for a series win at this point.

Tell me This Video doesn't make your blood boil. My word this video says it all.

@The Dude - who said it should infuriate you? Personally it makes me want to run through a wall for the coach. My post was in assumption that others feel the same.
-
@LoebarthI agree with @The Dude your saying of "making my blood boil" is universally thought of as being infuriated. Also, I don't know how long it has been since you have played football, but seeing an online video of football practice and you getting so worked up that you would "run through a wall for the coach" is a bit odd.

@ColoradoHusk - maybe I'm just ready for the season and have drank too much of

This is the most Toxic fall camp media I've EVER seen. It's nauseating. I'm so disgusted with the media that I ended my sub to the OWH and have decided to refuse to listen to any local journalist (hater). If s#!tel is on 1620 I turn the station. This s#!t show of journalism is absolutely sickening.

@Loebarth I get the frustration. But sports journalists have always been "commentators" on top of being "reporters". People can get stats and roster news from Huskers.com. But opinions (good or bad) are what drives the media. We either love their opinions, or love to hate them. Either way, they are successful.
If coaches don't give them something to write about, they will have to find something to fill their columns. Not writing about the Husker football team won't cut it in Omaha/Lincoln. Especially during the season.
-
The truth of the matter is that journalists and media organizations know what people like and listen to, and now more than ever, they're basing their content strategies off of clicks, pageviews and subscription purchases. Their strategy may have lost you Loebarth while gaining them 10 new subs.
That's also why people like Stephen A. Smith are some of the highest paid sports personalities in the business. He drives clicks and views and makes them money. It's a vicious circle my dudes.

Watching the "Sites & Sounds" videos of fall camp and wow... there seems to always be high energy in the defensive players during drills. The offense though, not so much. Where's there energy and is it just me being pessimistic?
-
@TonyStalloni - lmao... we used to initiate freshmen with atomic balm and sadly, now students get expelled for doing it. Oh the good ole days!!! Good Memories indeed!!
-
Watching the Iowa/Kentucky game... Both offenses are offensively disgusting!!!
-
Wonder who made the call on our fumble. Announcers were even shocked that it wasn't over ruled. Going to be a very long season of biased officiating again.
-
Yo, just happened to run across this again... Still think it's one of the best ever jersey into's.
-
@ZRod IIRC they wore it against Illinois in Lincoln with McCaffrey playing QB.
The road uni we see in the video (with white jersey & black pants) would have looked cooler IMO.
