Probably my biggest gripe of the whole season. We’ve done this so many times. Just another example of coaches failing these players.

Frost lost his balls somewhere along the way. You’re a 3 win team playing the #5 team in the country… go for it for Christ’s sake!!!

I agree that Nebraska could ultimately be an easier/better job but right now it’s not. I just don’t think a guy like Kiffin would leave to take on a rebuild in this point in his career unless it’s for a significant pay raise. I wonder if he’s on LSU’s short list. That’s a job he would leave Ole Miss for.

I just really don’t think Trev had any plans of firing Frost but I doubt he thought the last two weeks would turn out the way it did either. Not saying it’s too late to switch gears but still you’d probably like to be further along in the process if you were going to make a change.

I just think it’s a lack of consistency across the board from play calling to players running the plays. We don’t have anything I would consider to be our “bread and butter”. Our co #1 RB to start the year is nowhere to be found and our #4-5 are now #1-2 midway through the season. That’s not normal. We returned multiple starters on the o-line that are now benched midway through the year. Honestly I think Frost’s offense looked good in year one but it seems he’s shifted his philosophy to suit the B1G better (which is the exact opposite of what he said he was going to do) and it just hasn’t really clicked.

I wonder if when he said “I don’t want to overstep” in his presser if he was alluding to already being told that he’s going to get one more year.

That would be the most Nebraska thing ever. He doesn’t work, we fire him. He works his way back through the ranks for a few years and leads some other team to greatness while we wallow in mediocrity still.

Honestly I think that is due to our talent level. We are getting out coached consistently but I think that this roster has equal or better talent than most teams we play thus are keeping themselves in games yet come up short. Here’s a statistic for you. If you count the canceled Wisconsin game, Frost is 0-8 after a bye week. Not one single win when you have two weeks to prepare for another team. That just floors me.

But if you’re Kiffin would you rather be at Nebraska or Ole Miss….

He’s not as good as he was as a true freshman. Much like some of our lineman that seem to come in and regress. Young receivers that never get on the field. This staff has done a horrible job of developing the talent they’ve recruited.

Vedral going to Rutgers and beating teams that you fail to beat seems like the ultimate indictment on Frost.

I’ll admit I get way too emotionally invested in this team but I’ve grown tired of letting it ruin my day every Saturday. Ive tried really hard this year to just enjoy the game itself and not focus so hard on the results. I chose to build electric fence for cows over going to/watching the game today and didn't struggle with that decision in the slightest so yea I’m pretty well over it right now.

I think even Mav has given up on defending Martinez

I have zero interest in watching this game and that hurts me as a fan. I have been so incredibly busy anyway but I have not cared a lot about Husker football since the Illinois game. I usually attend nearly all home games but this year we only made it to Michigan and I doubt we’ll make it to any others. I had no interest in watching today’s game, I don’t even check the score until the third quarter. I tuned in for about 10 minutes and turned it right back off. I am die hard GBR but the apathy is very real for me this season but particularly the last couple weeks.

Team has little to play for at this point, next week could be very rough.. I remember getting boat raced by OSU in Lincoln in 2017 to put the final nail in Riley’s coffin. History seems likely to repeat.

I think we’ve reached the point where we aren’t likely getting a proven power 5 guy. It’s going to have to be an coordinator or you’re taking an up and coming coach from a lower level. Here’s another concern.. Although I have confidence in Trev as an AD I really don’t think he had any plans of firing Frost this year. He said Frost wasn’t coaching for his job because he thought the way we were playing surely we’d find a way to win at 2 of our last 5 games and give Frost a pass and a chance with an easier schedule. I bet he’s thinking Oh s#!t right about now that 0-5 down the stretch is a realistic possibility. He’s having to completely change gears based on how things have transpired the last few weeks. Now must get a short list together quick and start gauging if any of them have interest before coaches start getting plucked away.

Definitely. But that is an indictment in Frost and his staff as well. I don’t think Frost is as good as he was his first year either. Its like he had a rough season, lost his confidence, and it’s effected his coaching. Maybe that’s trickled down to Adrian.

Why would he leave for this job though? If he wants to coach at a Power 5 program he’ll wait for a better opportunity.

He got his top pick at QB who is now a 4 year starter with a pretty damn good defense. If there was a time to have a good team it was this year… Yet here we are.

Went to my first Husker VB game last night. It amazed me how little in game coaching Cook does. He’ll call a time out and literally not say anything, I thought that was incredible and a testament to how well coached this team is.

Yea pretty much how I see it. Although a lot of these guys have talent behind them albeit unproven. Really comes down to a few players imo. If Daniels, and Thomas return on the D-Line, I'm not too worried about the defense. Allen is going to get drafted I don't see him staying, he'll be a big loss but if Fidone heals up I won't be worried there. Line returns but if the last 4 years are an indication of anything that doesn't mean that they will be better, or even the same guys will be starting. I pray Betts doesn't leave because he seems criminally under utilized. But I have a feeling we will hit the portal harder than ever this year.

Agree but I do think Adrian often holds the ball too long.

1. Fleck is a better coach than Frost right now. 2. Austin Allen will get drafted. 3. Adrian still hasn’t led a team on a hand winning drive I don’t think despite what seems like dozens of chances in his career.

No words for Adrian. He’s a great kid but just folds in crunch time. Honestly has he ever led this team on a game winning drive?
