  1. Defense seems to have embraced the offensive philosophy to get off the field fast. But missed the part about not letting the other team score.
  2. linebackers slow to react even when line clogs the lanes, and now as I type the the rest of the backfield chokes
  3. I don't know what walk on rules are, I would think they could come and go easier than scholarship players, in the past I don't think I've seen many news stories when a walk on leaves the team.
  4. +1 I agree, not sure what I was thinking ...... I'm putting the N in Knowledge ....
  5. I'm in the click bait crowd on this one, the story was fine. My response to the headline: Hell Know. Too many things still going right to think the program is gone. Now we will see what Frost can do if he can show that he can be Great. I think Nebraska Still puts a great car on the Track but needs to find a driver that can get the most out of the car. If it were F1 i'd say Red Bull possibly Ferrari quality .......... due to geographical constraints the Mercedes team will probably be in the south most of the time. But a good driver can still win high level.
  6. I agree soon we turn the corner, this year all Sophomore, Junior and Senior players are Riley recruits. The Freshman influenced by the coaching change. A few true freshman are on the field so that great. Of course all players will soon have two years of strength and development no matter who recruited them (excluding new recruits for 2019). By next year the physical and execution stuff should be sorted out, cant blame the last staff for discipline and I'm not sure how long it takes work in the weight room to pay off but so far the guys still don't seem physically prepared based on getting pushed around on the field.
  7. LSU sat down with Burrow and asked to build the offense around his talents, (I caught this at some point during the game this past weekend). I'm not sure our staff would modify what they do to fit a certain QB. Of course no mod may have been needed to fit what Burrow can do.
  8. Well I'd like to beat Purdue and Colorado but I guess that's just a silly expectation.
  9. I dont know what Flecks style is but I think he inherited a well coached touch team and he is fitting his style to the talent he has. I hope one day beating the Huskers will again be a quality win.
  10. Thanks for the info, of course it's a lame chart if that's all it does. I'm trying to decide what I think of team performance based on what is being accomplished on the field. I feel like many loses were to lower talent teams that were better prepared. The hope is that sticking to a system that doesn't fit your talent will pay off in the long run. Losing seasons certainly damage recruiting but the calculation is that teaching the current players how to play in the system is better than winning games with a strategy that sacrifices the development of the new system. It's a coaching delema that I've wondered about.
  11. That was for me the most puzzling thing about Bo, you know he had the chops to coach a great defense but he couldn't sustain it over time as the HC.
  12. Man very depressing chart, I had wondered what the impact of the departing players has been, I'm guessing that the adjusted ranking is against everyone else adjusted ranking. This helps see why you need to give the coach time I would hope the departures stabilize as the staff and environment settle down.
  13. I certainly would not be too upset if he left, at best so far he has been marginal, perhaps he can get the defense better so we will see.
  14. A chance to equal our stride.
  15. Wait are you trying to say the Jesus in coming out of the closet.
  16. Maybe they will be the "New Coke" wasnt that big in the 90's"
  17. Perhaps that can be a punishment. Put 'em in the game and have them catch high passes across the middle and get killed by the defense. They can ask JD Spielman to explain what this means.
  18. whole thread is worth is just for these two posts ............... "In a Van Down By the RIVER !!"
  19. Great News, the team has had a nasty habit of not being very resilient over the years when a star players goes down, I hope Martinez playing pumps up all of the players and perhaps Martinez will also return better than he was a play a bit more fast and loose.
