  1. Since you seem to know so much about quarterback play, maybe Bo should hire you? Do you have any facts to support that Brion is superior, or are you just taking cheap shots at Martinez for the heck of it? It's very frustrating to me that personal feelings and preferences take precedent over level of play or statistics...
  2. I can't wait until Bo proves all of the people like you wrong, and you guys come crawling back, talking about how great the team is. Haters gonna Hate.
  3. I think this might be a pretty good package, but I don't think you could design an entire college offense around it. I would think you would need to have some more variation, or else it would be too predictable.
  4. He should change his signature to: "Back to Back B1G Champion. Back to Back Rose Bowl Loser." International Hater's Ball around here...that's fine. Keep it coming and On Wisconsin! "I'd like to thank the Lord Almighty for giving everyone else so much, and me so little!" I hope somebody gets that reference...
  5. You've got a point about discipline (or lack thereof, but let's be real - most coaches hire guys they know. Hiring position coaches and coordinators who are total strangers is very rare. The nepotism angle is a miss. They are known for the experience and abilities or know to BO from Youngstown? If guys are picked based on experience and credentials, I have no issues, but to go from a RB coach (who developed no one) to OC, IMHO is a miss. Our D line looked great with SUH and then what. Look at the four year in ability to stop a mobile QB and now this guy is our DC again, IMHO another miss. I have no issue promoting guys you know, BUT they really need to be qualified for the position. Beck held "passing game Coordinator" at KU, so to paint him as a bumbling guy with no experience is unfair. ... At the beginning of the season, this record and these were the results were what a good majority of us were expecting, but now that they have happened, there's a total meltdown My only thoughts on the subject
  6. At least for the first half, we appeared even with a top notch SEC team in talent level...
  7. The fact is: he has absolutely NO experience coordinating an offense, and has only been a position coach. And if i'm correct, he coaches the WR's, which traditionally isn't an incredibly intricate position to learn. I have no idea the inner workings, so that may not be the case, but QB and OL coaches usually are the most involved position coaches. I could see this being a plausible scenario if he went to OC at a smaller school to get some experience, but as of right now, I don't believe he would be ready...
  8. CHATTANOOGA W 40-7 FRESNO STATE W 42-29 WASHINGTON W 51-38 WYOMING W 38-14 WISCONSIN L 48-17 OHIO STATE W 34-27 MINNESOTA W 41-14 MICH. STATE W 24-3 NORTHWESTERN L 28-25 PENN STATE W 17-14 MICHIGAN L 45-17 IOWA W 20-7 3 blowouts all year, and Carnes played in all 3. Do risk losing a game to develop one player? Exactly. And not 1 of those 3 would've been considered "put in the backups" secure by Tom Osborne. Possibly UT Chat but definitely not the others. But the same people would complain about not putting the game away as are complaining about no experience for backups. Crying about Carnes not getting reps is code for "I don't like Taylor much" So you know what I mean moreso than I do? I think I've been one of the more vocal ones on here who has changed my opinion of TM, I think he has improved tremendously, and I've said that numerous times. So that blows your "I don't like Taylor much" idea right out of the water. And there were also two blowouts that we were on the other end of that were golden opportunities. And some of the shots TM took on the last series of the Michigan game were the type that could have had you calling to the sidelines for #2. And the Iowa game was not as close as that score indicated, yes if they score once more and then they recover a onside kick....yada, yada, yada. They scored one late TD with the help of numerous questionble calls, that game was not in doubt in the fourth quarter. I've never complained about not putting a game away. But it doesn't matter what I think, Taylor will most likely continue to take every snap, and if something does happen to him we'll send in a QB who has zero experience. (This doesn't apply to you in particular, but to many of these Carnes backers) Saying a few nice things about a kid doesn't change the underlying negativity that riddle most of the posts about him. Saying he's improved on one hand, then begging for the other guy to be in on the other is contradicting yourself, imo.
  9. I wouldn't put Bell and Enunwa in the same league. Bell had some costly drops, and I thought Enunwa was consistently the best reciever
  10. was going to call you out on the Tim Tebow thing - since he won the Heisman as a sophomore...but looks like you edited. The sophomore thing gets old by the way...he's still developing but there are plenty of young QBs that are very successfull in CFB. See k-state 2011. Klein is a redshirt junior, so he has a year on TM, and I honestly think that Taylor is a better passer at this point than Klein. Klein's 6'5", which helps him in the redzone. That's the only difference between the two
  11. People want TM to play smart and play in his head (which takes away some of his athleticism and speed), and then complain when he isn't making huge runs anymore. We can't have it all.
  12. We also lose Kinnie and Legate. Defensively we lose quite a bit of talent, but thankfully due to the injuries we had, we have quite a bit of experience coming back next season. Realizing how tough this schedule was during the summer, most folks probably would not have picked us winning 10 games this year. Losing Kinnie is not huge if you ask me
  13. Blocking. Tackling. Hotel familiarity. I'm telling you. It has an effect. You don't have to believe me. Well I wouldn't argue with because you clearly know best. And after all, how would you expect our offensive line to out-muscle anyone when they've never stayed at a Hampton Inn before? It's not just the hotels. It's traveling to a new city, on new routes, on a new itinerary. Not only that, but you have to get used to the other team's coaching philosophy, and also the style of play. Defensive Lines are smaller and quicker in the Big XII, so you need more athletic line play. It's the opposite in the B1G. The new conference hasn't lost us any game, but is definitely a factor in our struggles
  14. This makes no sense to me. I know the BCS is run by the computers and such, but being one spot behind a team that has the same record as us, that we also beat face to face is a little ridiculous to me
  15. HuskerBCS just further demonstrates to me that people here use their personal bias in evaluating players. Just because you don't LIKE Taylor Martinez doesn't mean he's not a good QB, and that he can't deliver a chamionship
  16. ...but not impossible... It was hard for me to run a mouse lefthanded when I got carpal tunnel (I'm an IT guy), but I decided I need to do so to avoid surgery. I did. It's also hard to learn how to drive a stick shift, lose weight, put the toilet seat down when you get married, quit smoking, learn to take your hat off in the house, and <YOUR EXAMPLE HERE>. The difference between adequate and excellent is if and when you are satisfied in not improving the status quo. I guess Martinez and the coaching staff are at that point with his throwing motion. I think instead of working on making something look prettier, the coaching staff should spend their time teaching Taylor more valuable things, like making correct reads. Every QB has passes tipped, it happens.

  18. This is Iowa State all over again...

  19. Martinez arguably plays one of his best and most efficient games of his Nebraska career, and we waste it because on poor playcalling and turnovers. I expect more than that...

  21. I for one didn't want to strangle the announcers today, so that's a plus. I appreciated the fact that Urban Meyer didn't completely dumb down the terminology, it was quite interesting to hear a guy who knew what he was talking about.
  22. Larry definitely used the diamond cutter. thats pretty obvious by the fact that DDP sued him for using it as it is a registered trademark. Didn't LJ do it because when you make the sign your fingers form and L and a J? I may be wrong, but that's what I always thought
