marathon of last season is on AMC right now!

  3. If we did that, what would stop the defense from teeing off on the run and short pass. You have to take more than a few shots downfield to keep them honest
  4. If you're going off of this logic, Tom Brady should have been benched two weeks ago against the Bills. Interceptions happen, people. It's just unfortunate that it happened on a night when our defense was getting torched up and down the field.
  5. You're probably spot on with this observation JJHusker1. If Martinez was hitting open receivers against our 2nd string it possibly could have given Beck a false assessment at Taylor's progress in the passing game. I know we practiced a lot 1's vs. 1's during Fall Camp, so it kind of amazes me that they would go away from that once the season started. I understand you don't want to get your top players hurt in practice, but at the same time you also don't want your players to gain a false sense of themselves by how they perform in practice if they are going up against 2nd string talent. When you practice for an opponent (and not just practice to install your offense/defense like you do in fall camp), you can't practice 1 on 1 for all that long because you have to simulate the other team's offense defense. If the 1 offense spent all their time trying to simulate Wisconsin's offense for the defense, when would they ever get to practice their actual plays? Same thing goes for the defense...
  6. But you have to play call to your players strength. You wouldn't expect Georgia Tech or Navy to call 12 straight 3 step passes, then get mad when they "don't execute". That's not what they, do, and similarly, that's not what we do.
  7. Missing open receivers happens to every quarterback. We as fans are asking for a perfect quarterback, and to get a good quarterback we are going to have to take some lumps. It amazes me that we are willing to let this guy contribute 75% of our offense (and be a big part of the reason we won) for 4 games prior to this, and at the first sign of adversity he faces, people want him canned for an unproven backup who has zero meaningful game experience. Mind boggling.
  8. Our defense practices against the scout team who would likely be quarterbacked by Ron Kellogg, so I have a hard time believing this
  9. Maybe black uniforms is what Taylor meant when he said we were going to "shock the world" The conspiracy continues...
  10. Because Wisconsin is SO much more exciting. Pot calling the kettle black.
  11. Throwing mechanics is something you change in the spring. Messing with that stuff now could really end up hurting him for the rest of the season
  12. Not to say that I don't think we have a chance in the upcoming game, but I like our odds against Wisconsin in a rematch at the B1G Championship game a lot better. Both units, especially the offense, should be gelled by then, and will already have previous experience against Wisconsin. Also, the neutral field will help. Defensively, I'd be willing to bet that Pelini has been cooking up a unique scheme for this upcoming game against Wisconsin, hopefully we can execute it with Dennard back.
  13. "Honestly, I don't think you guys had an answer for Chris Polk in either game last year. Your defensive line was soft in my opinion. Sure, you defended the pass very well against us, but this year we've added a massive tight end and an explosive Wide Receiver to our offense. OUr offensive line is much more talented than a year ago. If that offensive line from a year ago dominated the Husker defense, this one will part your defensive line wider than when Moses parted the Red Sea! You still have Martinez, but I'll take my chances with Washington shutting him down than a team that has a scary passing attack. My prediction, Washington in a rout, 36-10. (You get 10 in garbage time)" "The loudest person in the room is also the weakest" - American Gangster
  14. The offense gets better and better as Beck slowly takes the handcuffs off. I think he and the rest of the offensive coaches went into this game thinking that they could be pretty vanilla and conservative and get by. I think by halftime, they realized that Fresno isn't UCT, and they can't continue to slowly implement the offense, but rather execute and use the offense, which is why we saw a major improvement in the second half. That being said, the offensive line does have a long way to go, and the reasoning behind not starting Jamal Turner is beyond me...
  15. I agree. We have so much talent in the RB positions, let's use them! If we are a 'running team' then let's run but not always have the qb run. He's going to end up getting hurt. I would much prefer to just move the ball up the field, burn up clock than to have a few big plays and stall the rest of the game. That's easier said than done. It seems to me that other than Burkhead's big run, most of our RB plays were getting stuffed
  16. Some of the people complaining on here must not know how long it takes to install an offense from practically nothing. Give it some time
  17. They have very little speed on the edge. Outside zone read should kill with Martinez
  18. I am horrifically bad at NCAA 12

screens and draws work much better on 12 than in years past. I bumped Tmarts speed up to 95. Out of the box he had an 82... way off

  19. The commitment you have to make to college athletics takes up a lot of your potential time, making it very hard for a student-athlete to get a job...so unless your family is loaded, you're going to be broke...of course these guys are going to take the money!
  20. Dear lord that is bad...They still had D. Robinson on there, and he's been off the team for almost TWO YEARS now...and apparently Aaron green is a 73...come on now!
  21. How in the world is Michigan the same rating as us defensively, not to mention better overall...come on EA, do some research
  22. They both look awesome...you can't go wrong either way
