It's a very good article on the "link" between mental illness and violent gun crime. It's not a simple solution that can be solved with a simple answer. But something needs to be done to at least prevent such a dramatic loss of life. 

It's definitely not going to be easy to work through gun crime and mental illness, but it's not an excuse to not even try.  The complete lack of budging on any gun control legislation makes things so infuriating.
