I'm glad I'm not friends with a lot of you. I say worse things than this about people I like all the time (my mom, my priest, my infant children, etc.) It's called venting. Also, right before he says the things a bunch of you are getting the vapors over, he said something to the effect of, "I was thinking . . .", which makes it sound as though he was confessing a momentary lapse in the face of some crappy treatment by quite a few fans and local media. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit. Some of you should look inside yourselves and see if you are football fans or just really like drama. Liking drama is OK. They have tons of TV shows for you (Kardashians, Real Housewives). If your a football fan, then chill out, root for your team and hope they win the rest of their games.

If there was a fine on that play, it should go to the O-lineman who let that happen. Clowney's hit was clean, but viscious.

Chancellors have to sign off on head coaching hires. They are much more sensitive to political correctness/criticism than most football fans. For this reason, I think Mangino and Leach won't get any offers above a Fla Alt level team.

Did you notice that AZ did the psych up Samoan dance and other "get pumped" stuff a full hour before the game? Then they went into normal warmup drills and calmed down. I thought it was odd that they would get so pumped up with so much time left until kickoff. NU came out much more calm and built up the intensity leading up to the kickoff.

Logically, you are all probably right. But when is NU going to go in and win a game they weren't supposed to win. KSU beat TX when they sucked and Freeman was a true freshman. No one would have given them a chance. NU needs a win like that.

If it is all on the players that we lost, does that mean that Mack Brown, Pete Carroll and Urban Meyer are just lucky that their players don't fumble that much? No, there is more to coaching than just calling the right plays. You have to get the team mentally ready, as well. As offensive coordinator, I think it is Watson's job to not only call a good game, but to have the offense mentally, physically and FUNDAMENTALLY ready to play the game. He and his offensive assistants need to own this loss along with the players. Turnovers killed us today, but the game was still winnable. What hurt the most was the inability to overcome the setbacks and come up with a big play or drive.

There is a big difference between celebrating with your team a beating your chest like Deon...ESPECIALLY when you are part of one of the worst offenses in college football. Robinson is a year out of high school, getting his first carries in Memorial Stadium. I'm going to cut him some slack if he gets excited, even if it is after only a 5 yard gain. He didn't know he was going to fumble on the next play and I'm sure he wasn't trying to. Different players play best at different intensity levels. Helu seems like a calm dude, so it fits that he doesn't celebrate too much. Seems to work for him. Other guys need to get the adrenaline flowing and feed off of it. The bottom line is that we are all pissed that they lost and the offense looked so bad. If they had pulled out a 10 - 9 win, no one would be complaining about a true freshman getting pumped after his first college carry.

We have a legit Top-25 defense . . . and a bottom 25 offense.
