  1. Stop making excuses. How can you compliment the team after we got BLOWN OUT by Purdue. How can you POSSIBLY compliment Fyfe after he single handedly lost us that game. You types of people are the reason we are in this mess because you SUPPORT this dumpster fire of a coaching staff. 10 point loss is now being blown out? Youre f'ing joking, right? It was 42-16 at one point.Losing by 10 to Purdue when you score 21 points in garbage time against a team running out the clock is a disgrace to bad teams. It is completely unacceptable to any football team that is trying to be relevant. How can you trail one of the worst offensive teams in football by 26 points? MR apologists should be writing speeches for politicians. What the f#*k are you reading? The guy I quoted asked when a 10 point loss is considered a blowout and I enlightened him we were down 3+ scores at one point. well he was agreeing with you. it is still the responsibility of the purdue defense to stop the nebraska offense no matter how much time is left. the fact of the matter is they lost by 10 points. TO PURDUE!

You types of people are the reason we are in this mess because you SUPPORT this dumpster fire of a coaching staff. 10 point loss is now being blown out? It was 42-16 before Purdue let us back into the game. 42-16 to the worst team in the conference. Correction SECOND worst...
  3. Wrong. It took one year. We were NEVER this bad in many years...and we will never get much better with this coaching staff. I really feel bad for these players...
  4. We were blown out by Purdue. Wasn't it 42-16 or 42-19 at one point? Anyone supporting Riley at this point is as delusional as the lead "actor" in the movie Windy City Heat.
  5. Yeah, but it's entirely possible the toxic stew and threadbare depth at Nebraska might have a direct impact on our current football program. Bo Pelini's name is gonna come up for years. Just as Solich and Callahan and Pederson do. This roster is not threadbare in terms of talent. Despite injuries, the team is fielding talented players. attrition is about equal to all other programs. Im sick of this player bashing based excuse. There's not a team in America that doesn't appear thin at a position here or a position there. There's also not a college football analyst in America who didn't declare Nebraska's secondary young, thin, unproven and a major liability before the season. Interesting. Here is a quote from sbnation... Biggest strength: As strange as it is to say about Nebraska, the aerial pass could favor the Huskers. Both the secondary and receiving corps could be top-notch.
  6. No kidding. Pelini is gone and we replaced him with a nicer person, but a much worse football coach. It will take a few more seasons to say that with any accuracy. If you judge him by his complete body of work which spans 30 some years, you can say it with 100% accuracy. Can anyone on here say with a straight face that Bo would have been 3-5 at this point?
  7. What!? Did you mean shouldn't have been fired?
  8. It seems to me that even when the scheme is executed fairly well, we are not ahead on the scoreboard as far as we should be. This allows teams that are not playing particularly well or less talented teams to still be in the game. I don't know a better way to articulate this other than saying I am not a fan of our schemes on either side of the ball...

  10. +1, also learn the proper use of to and too.
  11. Was Crick double-teamed as much as Collins in 2010? I don't remember him being constantly double-teamed, but if so, good on him. That's a hell of a season for him. Oh, definitely. If not more. To clarify, I don't think he's a bad player or that he's been a liability for us or anything like that (aside from that penalty - and maybe a few plays like the one Willie pointed out). He's been a steady, serviceable player. But that's about it. Nothing against Crick, but I thought he put up great numbers his junior year because Suh was constantly being double-teamed, so that left Crick with one-on-one blocking at the other DT. I remember Crick having a huge game against Baylor in 2009. I think he had like 4 sacks in that game alone. What were Crick's numbers his senior year in 2010 when he was the main man inside and seeing double-teams. 2010 numbers above are from his junior year w/o Suh. 2011 he got hurt and only played 5 games http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=831184& I think he was hurt pre-season 2011. He was never himself that year. Torn pectoral muscle?
  12. That is really stretching the truth. You also do not hammer in square pegs into round holes...you play with the hand you are dealt. This staff is clearly not doing that at all.
  13. There ya go! Fixed it for you! *dusts hands off* Seriously, though, Gill deserves another FBS shot. Not sure it should be at DoNU...but the reason he ultimately failed at Kansas was at least 60% political--very caustic climate down there, as many of the boosters of substance didn't take too kindly to a man of color leading their program. As for head coach, GOAT is on to something with Richt. He'd be willing to bring on specialists and folks like Ed Ogereon(sp) to help fill in gaps and shore up deficiencies (like recruiting) that Nebraska has to contend with. I would be in favor of Turner Gill. I liked what he did with lowly Buffalo in a short period of time. Agree also that he wasn't given a fair chance at Kansas.
  14. This team, with a few exceptions, has no intrinsic motivation to get up and perform, to improve on their own time, or to find a killer instinct because that's how it's been forever. They wouldn't know their *** from a hole in the ground if Bo didn't tell them. They had to be spoonfed their motivation by him and the concept of self-motivation and players picking up their teammates seems foreign. So wait what you are saying is that Bo was a great motivator, but didn't train the team to be motivated without him? Very profound... Isn't that what team captains are for?
  15. not sure all the practices in the world will help our sh#t talent and their sh**ty attitude. we need new players and a youth movement. How did our 9 win talent all of the sudden go down the toilet like this? The coaching has absolutely nothing to do with it...
  16. 100% agree. Wistrom made an almost immediate impact as a FRESHMAN. Suh was dominant for 1/2 of his senior season... He never took a play off and his motor never quit. If I had to assemble an all Husker team starting on defense, he is my first pick. I met him at a Husker event and I am just under 6 foot with a medium build and when I shook his hand, he completely dwarfed me and could have easily tossed me into the nearest trash can. Super nice guy too.
  17. Carlos Polk had some crazy hits on special teams that I recall.
  18. Green was also knocked for fumbling issues early on. I think that is why the Seattle coach said he was traded...
  19. Even coaching staffs that were fired for their lack of performance? Even the last guy improved things greatly in his first season. It depends on whether you think Callahan was a better recruiter than Bo. Did Callahan leave Bo with more depth than Bo left for Riley? And what about the schedule? Is this year's schedule easier, harder, or the same as the 2008 schedule? Are we comparing apples to apples? It will never be apples to apples for sure. My point was the last guy did right the ship in his first year. I think it had much more to do with the coaching staff than the overall talent. We all know that there were not many strides after that for the next 6 years. My point was we should not have taken as many steps backward as we have especially in our secondary play with the coaching experience and pedigree we currently have. Add in some coaching gaffes and we are, where we are. What impresses me the most is how the team has kept fighting through the injuries and other adversities. Even with the rough start this team can still make a bowl which is better than the guy before the last guy.
  20. Even coaching staffs that were fired for their lack of performance? Even the last guy improved things greatly in his first season.
  21. Can you please expand upon this profound statement? Does coming together mean beating a team with a horrible offense? The win was great for the team morale and to get to 3-4 but...
  22. ...or we can ask Mike Riley how easy it is to win at Nebraska?
  23. Either that, or we're one reliable Head Coach away from being 6-0...hmm...maybe the university shouldn't have fired Pelini? Just so you know, Bo Pelini was very reliable at not starting a season 6-0. He was 7-0 at not starting 6-0. That trend will continue with Riley.
