Tis the season! Nebraska Soccer started their season tonight @ Kansas. Speaking of which, for you hardcore Hockey fans, just an FYI. 'The Great One' Wayne Gretzky's niece, Mila Gretzky (her dad Brent Gretzky briefly played in the NHL) is a Freshman on the Nebraska Soccer team.

Lots of single season NFL records on the line these next two weeks. Aside from Calvin Johnson breaking Jerry Rice's record last night, Adrian Peterson is 294 yds. shy of breaking Eric Dickerson's record while J.J. Watt and Aldon Smith are 4 sacks away from breaking Michael Strahan's record.

Nirvana reunion with Paul McCartney standing in for Kurt Cobain @ the Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert tonight in NYC. I'm intrigued by this news. I love Nirvana and The Beatles.

Mack Brown is 2-7 vs. KSU. 0-2 vs Ron Prince-led KSU and 2-5 vs. Bill Snyder-led KSU. The last time Mack beat KSU was in consecutive years of 2002-2003. KSU owns Texas the same way Texas owns Nebraska. It baffles the mind, doesn't it?

As UGLY as that loss was, salute to the Badgers for that dominating display. They simply outcoached and outplayed us from start to finish. Best of luck in the Rose Bowl.

Tough year for schools that wear Black & Gold/Yellow. Of the 9 FBS schools with those colors, only 2 have qualified for a bowl game: Vanderbilt & Central Florida. Another two have to win next weekend to qualify: Mizzou and Wake Forest. Five did not qualify: Colorado, Iowa, Army, Southern Miss, Western Michigan.

It's surprising that Michigan has not scored an offensive TD since Oct. 13th.
