Yep 100%. Look at that 2017 class where all 4 LBs are now gone. One of the weakest links of our team.

So this is the 8 players: Eric Lee, Avery Anderson, Lamar Jackson, John Rairdon, Marquel Dismuke, Matt Farniok, Darion Daniels(first year in program), and Green(who is redshirting). To me it seems like at least this staff is getting the most that they can out of these players.

I wonder how many of those players that are left are also the higher rated players. Seems like a lot of players that left are the higher rated ones: Gebbia, POB, Lindsey, KJJ, Avery Roberts, Cam'ron Jones were all 4 stars iirc.

Bana would seem like the obvious choice but Pitt seems like he is a little shifty and probably fights dirty.

So special teams caused us to have 9 yards per pass and 7 yards per rush while allowing 5.6 per pass and 2.7 per rush. All of those but our passing looking equal or better than #12 Utah did just the week before. Thats interesting

Yeah i can see that. They are still new to being coaches at this level of fandom so I'm sure that is part of the process to figure out.

People really think that coaches call the pressers just to hype the fans. Its an obligation and I'm sure they would rather not say anything.

I'd like the people who are saying on paper we have the talent to go back and look at our classes and you should very easily be able to see where this team would be struggling. There just isn't the talent at LB, WR, and a couple big names on the online but not enough to start 5. I know we are Nebraska so everyone just wants to say oline is the only thing you need on the field but the bigger problem to me is WR. We don't pose a downfield threat to anyone and it let's defenses play up in the box and react to runs easily. We could probably run a power offense keep games closer and grind it out but if that's not what we want to do moving forward there is no point. And yes you could go tell OSU that spread won't work in the B10.

I think we got the slightly worse hand with bad calls but since they had one that lost the game they will complain more. Even then I think it could have gone either way since that ball was probably too far for that WR to catch anyway. Looked a lot like the one we lost to Wiscy on in 2016. The encroachment on the punt that would have continued a drive, the bad horsecaller on JoJo, and the PI that led to their only TD. I'm not sure how you call a PI on someone who looks back at the ball and has their hands down at their side. Someone also was tweeting about how they didnt even enforce the penalty right for that PI.

Well not recruiting a Center that could play and allow Jurgens to develop would be a start. Not recruiting WRs and and online in general lead to both issues as well. I mean I guess frost could also start one of Riley's recruits at QB over Martinez.

I can see how those would be issues, but every major sport manages them somehow. NFL jerseys are all NIKE as far as I know but players still manage deals with other companies. Same with NBA. Same thing with likenesses. Those players are allowed free reign of their own likeness despite the company standing to gain by having exclusive rights on it. I do agree though it will probably provide incentive for players to go to schools where their brand is, but i dont think this is much different than other incentives to go to any school. Like a school can spend 150mil to build a facility to attract players but someone else giving them money is not fair. Another point to add on top of this is that bagmen are already there. So the NCAA can decide with impunity who they decide is in violation of rules since most major universities are breaking these rules in some fashion. The universities generally get off pretty light from the NCAA but they will torpedo players if they have lunch with someone they are not allowed to.

Yes im sorry I was a little heated so I def was more condescending than needed. The NCAA is unbelievably corrupt and greedy, and hide behind the guise of "integrity". That doesn't mean people supporting not paying players are though. The way I see it benefits are not the same as a wage. I would absolutely not allow my boss to replace the majority of my wage with benefits. How about schools just get exposure instead of money from networks. If someone wants to use integrity as an argument then that's fine. Broadcast the games for free with just enough ads to cover the cost of production. There is tons of money getting into this and its directed where to go for a very specific reason. Like really how are you gonna try to say you own someone's name and they can't make money off of it. That is really the least they can allow.

I have always been 100% on board with paying players. The system now is just a joke and should not be legal. Everyone that acts as if benefits are the same as a wage go to your employer now and tell them to stop paying you and just pay you with training(that you also have to do on top of your current job). Add into that how its a 99% chance you will sustain an injury and possible that you will never fully recover from it. They are the product and the whole reason the schools make money for the sport. Give them their percentage. Dont pay your servants because it will ruin the integrity of the money they make for you? Give me a break man
