    I like Benning's sentiment and that's that Bo should take what's tangible from Osborne because he had the recipe to be successful at Nebraska. example would be how they conduct practice. Hitting has been beaten to death but he also talks about multiple stations for the first teams all the way to the 5th string. Everyone got equal reps and you reaped the benefits of guys developing at a faster rate.

    fix the mentality and everything else will trickle down. They need to eat and breathe this program to take that next step.

    The coaches need to force these players into the weight room. There are some that are self-motivated to do so. Others need a kick in the ass and senior leadership needs to make sure everyone is in there going 110%. Its really simple.

    I came across it after I got done watching a 2009 nebraska defense video. I think watching other teams coaching shows is insightful and provides outside perspective(something this program desperately needs). Especially when it is about us so it is absolutely relevant my man.

    Carlos Hyde is vastly overrated and is left alone because teams focus on Miller. Fitz only gets recognition because of the team he plays on and Michigan players are hyped up more than anyones. Ameer and Melvin are friends for a reason. They know they are the cream of the crop and respect their games. A backfield with Ameer and Melvin would be insane.

    I'd have to disagree immensely on this. I feel that Ameer and Gordon are the two standing alone at the top. I'd bet Mich and Ohio St. would rather have those two.

    Terrific athlete. I see a star on either side of the ball but I wish this guy knew the type of potential he has at linebacker. Looks like a future all american at that position to me.

    The numbers speak for themselves. You find a way. I'm not saying this class won't end up being very good, but at the end of the day you have to expect more. You can't have your top prospects falling out in groups like this. You have to get Ballage on campus. Offering guys and getting them on campus are two different things. In the beginning the staff said it was ok and don't panic. Trust me, they're panicking a little bit now. Kids are committing much sooner and you can't drop the ball on that one weekend you rely so much on. Gameday isn't selling like it used to. Ill be the first to say, TJ and Fish are great recruiters, but Nebraska needs a closer and have to become more aggressive. I'm hoping for the best like the rest of you but things need to pick up. We have to get those elite players on campus.

    Some people will never be happy. Darn these coaches for saying that kids are coming when they say they will. Coaches making other prospects intentions public draws hype from the media. Those are good things. The coaches have done everything they can short of giving these kids money and flying them up themselves. This big red weekend will not be as big as it could have been but we still have some exciting prospects with a chance of some committs. Here is to a big weekend and some more good news on top of farmer AND stoltenberg offer. The fact of the matter is, Nebraska started off lazy in this class. They have no problem getting the second and third team all conference players but the real race is to get those future first teamers. I understand that they want to have the rule changed because not giving OV is a real disadvantage but you have to find a way. Nebraska knows they let off the pedal. They rode the high of last class. The guys that can't make it now are the guys that put the program over the top. You find a way.

    this is the difference between good and great. You have to get the big names in here. Commitments are happening so fast that time cannot be wasted. If some of these kids really wanted to come here, they find a way. Cameron Sims won't be coming either. Now this list isn't all that great. I'm under the impression that sometimes kids will just say, "yeah sure I'll be there" to the coaches and media but in reality they know they won't and will give an excuse last minute. Actually, I know that in most cases thats how it goes.

    IMO, Trevor Roach should have gotten the nod over Fisher/Whaley. Roach looked good in his minimal amount of time he stepped in to relieve L.David a couple seasons ago. He was a sure tackler and had decent speed, yet we went with S.Fisher/A.Whaley whom seem to sometimes be afraid of breaking a nail while tackling. Will Compton did his best to replace the legend known as L.David. His experience and leadership was the core of our defense. But the talent needed an upgrade overall. We have a strong and athletic group of LBs coming in. I think with experience, maturity, and understanding they may be the strength of our defense in the coming years. Our DBs aren't too shabby either. If we can take care of the depth issue in the trenches, we may get a chance to see why Pelini's mind is so respected as a defensive guru once again. According to PJ Smith, Roach should've been starting.
