  1. Dobson is solid. He didn't make a D-Line stand like a scarecrow in front the opposing O-Line. He wasn't in charge of tackling drills or placekicking. He didn't start his D2 level nephew at center. If he can figure out how to prevent knee injuries everyone will want him. Best of luck to him.
  2. I agree with this. Beck couldn't say no to $700K, but I bet he wants to distance himself as much as possible. I have a hard time believing anyone buy Paps wants to have anything to with Bo. I don't think it's going to be an issue.
  3. Bo has caused unnecessary work for his successor. These glib explanations for why none of this is a problem completely ignore that. I get what you're saying, but I think Bo just accomplished the opposite. His actions have made a true clean start possible. No one can defend Bo anymore and what he did was close the door on his Legacy. These new coaches will have to take all the leadership because it hasn't been developed and nurtured. As bad as this situation is, I think it is all on Bo and good for the program moving forward.
  4. Full might be a bit much, but I don't believe its bare. Obviously that's just my opinion. We won't know until September-October.
  5. Let's not be naive. Most, me included, thought it was the right hire at the time. That being said, most, me included, didn't realize Bo was a complete disaster. At least he left us with a full cupboard. We'll be fine.
  6. This article puts me in a great place as a Husker fan. It is clear that Bo processes almost no skills when it comes to leadership. When it comes to running a huge organization that is fueled by kids that are still developing into mature adults, the issues with the program start to make sense. I feel like this this program has already turned the corner. Good luck coach Pelini. We are moving on.
  7. After following Nebraska's recruiting for a while, I have come to find this question kind of funny. Maybe I am missing something, but when was the last time that Nebraska stopped "actively pursuing" an elite (meaning highly rated) recruit who had us in their top 2 or 3. I would be surprised if they were not actively pursuing. That being said, Oklahoma does have 5 OL recruits and maybe Nebraska just hasn't been in a position where they could not take another elite prospect at a particular position since I began following. I am sure you guys will remember situations and slam me for this, so please enlighten me! haha Callahan made a comment on the radio this morning that the coaches at Lawton, many of which have been around since the Shields/Minter days, have always let Nebraska know when they had top level talent. The coaches indicated that they had felt like there had been a lack of interest in players from Oklahoma in general. Callahan said the last player we took on Scholly from Oklahoma was Dillard's brother.
  8. Per Angie Machado at Beaverblitz.com. I didn't think my work computer would let me go to that site.
  9. And PETA takes on another cause that 99.94% of people don't care about.
  10. C'mon, Frank is 70. I wait for footballscoop.com has to say anyway. Real strong performance by that crew the last couple of weeks.
  11. Tressel, Frost, McElwain, Ditka and Lombardi would have done it in 4.2 days. This guy is awful.
  12. No matter what everyone thinks of Armstrong (i agree he didn't have a great season), he is soooooo much better of a passer and runner than Stanton. I honestly think Stanton might be the worst passer in the 5 deep on the current roster. Can't wait to see that hype train, though!! The ELITE QB camp says Hi! So what. They play football not Skeleton. The only ones that are even playing out of that E11 group are Goff and Hackenberg. Let's be honest, Hackenberg is rough and Goff is on a terrible team. Armstrong isn't bad. He's needs development. Calm down and set his feet. I hope he stays. Fyfe has a ton of potential too. I'm not handing the operation over Stanton because he won a football camp. If he is the best then I hope he plays.
  13. I think I'm having a harder time with people concerned about the assistants. Basically, we are hearing from many around college football that Riley is a pretty decent coach. We also heard that some of the key contributors to his struggles has been the lack of funding and the location of the school. I haven't seen anywhere that he doesn't know how to pick assistants or his assistants generally suck. It's like "Riley is alright, but that dude that has been with him for 10 years really blows". I for one am glad that he is picking his assistants and there isn't a pressure to pick this Nebraska guy or that PR hire.
  14. I have always believed that in general, below average STs show a lack of depth that a team has. Obviously, that isn't always the case.
  15. TA needs a coach. I'm curious to see how he responds. He has skills. I watched Ryker Fyfe play a few high school games. That kid can play too. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in the mix. The real thing Stanton now has is a chance. I wouldn't put anything more into it than that.
  16. That struck me as odd, too. You'd think he'd have a pretty full Rolodex by now. A huge complaint for years is that we have a staff of Nobody's and now we are questioning that he doesn't know any of them?
  17. Yep, you nailed it. 9 wins wasn't enough.
  18. This whole thread So,what happens if he pulls off a 5~7 season? This whole thread is garbage. What happens if he's not?
