I can’t help but to think that if everyone on this board did their part and grew a mustache that Nebraska would somehow win another title.

Lol why did someone laugh at 10-12 posts I typed up from two years ago?

You local (non-blockbuster non-hollywood video) video store, what was it? Mine
All-Star Video. When I was a kid it was my dream to work at that place!

Your first sports memory, about yourself.
Mine...Tee-Ball. Never played before but my mom wanted to be able to "see me" so she told me to play first base...so I asked the coach and ended up playing first base (and catcher, because I sucked) forever.

I was a total sports dork/spaz when I was a kid, especially with baseball. I looked forward to those games and would be so mad when the games were rained out. My first memories were in the beginning of "kid pitch". This was back in the day where they didn't transition from tee ball to coach/machine pitch to kid pitch.
I would get on the rubber and throw the ball as hard as I could. I was pretty wild and hit a lot of kids. I remember one game where I was pitching, and the ball went up and in on the hitter. Well, the ball hit off the handle of the bat, deflected and hit the kid in the face. I remember the delay it caused from the kid being hurt. I didn't really know how to react being the "cause" of this kid's injury.

Me: Stops at the store and grabs a nice hunk of meat to smoke so that I can make Chicago italian beef sandwiches.
also me: Doesn't realize my thermometer is set on Celsius and instead of pulling off the smoker at 125...It gets to 155.

I thought large gatherings were okay as long as they were outside? How many college teams actual have indoor stadiums?
-
Would Alex Gordon have the same legacy and career had he not been a Royal?
-
@krc1995 the Royals probably did move Gordon up to the majors too quickly, but they were also hurting for attendance during that time, and knew that Gordon being up in KC would bring droves of fans from Nebraska to go to games.
As a Royals fan, I am very happy with the way his career turned out, and how he was a big component to their World Series teams in 2014 and 2015, especially the World Championship in 15.

@The Dude why is that an interesting take? It's pretty much the guidance from the health officials and local governments where COVID has been hit hardest.

@Xmas32 I would say that Gordon had a very good career, and possibly great when including his defensive prowess in the outfield. Most people are going to focus on his hitting, which has been good, but not great. Due to the length of his career, he could get his number retired at Kansas City, as he was a symbol of their rise from terrible seasons to World Series champions. Plus, I think he is very well thought of as a person in the Kansas City area.

Not sure what that question means, but him being a Royal his entire career helped him stay popular and relevant in the Midwest. He was given plenty of time early in his career to develop and his transition to outfield saved his career. He developed into one of the best defensive outfielders in the game, and became a decent hitter. While Gordon wasn't the best player on those World Series teams, he was a key leader on the team. His home run in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series will go down as one of the biggest hits in KC Royals history.

CHSAA (high school athletic admin in Colorado) announces football will be moved to Feb 2021, volleyball to March 2021.

Fall sports were able to do camps and informal practices this summer, but I am not sure what all is involved with the football workouts. My son has been doing soccer camp at his high school most of the summer, and was supposed to do a pre-tryout camp this week, with tryouts/practices starting next week. All of this has changed with today's announcement.

@krc1995 baseball is being moved back to start at end of April, and basically be played in May and June. They are basically having 3 "shortened" sports seasons of 2 months each from Jan - June 2021, instead of the seasons going 3 months.

Rashod Bateman(WR- MN Gophers) has decided to opt out of the 2020 College Football season and focus on the 2021 NFL Draft. Huge hit for the Gophers.

@Cdog923 that's ok, I've heard ladies are more interested in thickness and girth, or that's what I just keep telling myself.
