completely agree! If you think back to 4 yrs ago when he arrive, he has grown quite a bit as a head coach. Rants on the sideline are far fewer. Handling the press much better. No major scandals. Very few defections from players. replaced some of the poor coaching hires (still have Cotton to go). That said he still has a ways to go. His teams need to be more consistent. We still have not figured out how to fully involve a d-end in the pass rush effectively. Still working on an offensive identity, although we came a long way this year. sometimes good things are worth waiting for.....keep Bo here

it isn't about talent on the o-line. It is about execution, and that is where coaching comes in. I think our line was very inconsistent. Some plays they were dominant and then turned around and whiffed on blocking assignments. Give some credit to defensive schemes, but overall I think we were out-coached on the lines. I have nothing against Barney and he has been a loyal husker, but we can do better.

Exactly. Even if we played the most perfect game in the history of cfb (maybe something like a 127 - 0 win) NU fans would still find endless things to bitch, whine & sob about. It's simply our DNA. I don't agree with this. I don't ever remember bitching during the 95 season but I'm bitching now. I think people as you described are the extreme minority. There are also equally as many people who are such homers that no matter how the season goes, all is great with the Huskers in their mind no matter what. Its a bell curve really, with the bulk of the fans being pretty realistic and level headed about things. I do think Nebraska fans have high expectation because we are Nebraska and football is what we are all about. But I don't think those expectations are unrealistic. I think this season was just a letdown overall for that middle part of the bell curve...the vast majority of the people. We had one good win offset by three bad losses. The rest were just games that had pretty much equal parts negative and positive to take away from them. I've seen as many posts about things like how great Rex, David and Dennard played as I've seen about what a snoozer the game was or how T-Mart can't hit the broad side of a wet paper bag even if he's standing inside the bag. if your measuring stick for all teams is the '95 team then you will be complaining an awful lot in the future...that was the best football team of all time. We have had a good year. Not great but good. We don't have the horses yet to be great.

If you don't control the line, you don't control the game. I have high hope for Rome, but he got blasted off the line of scrimmage all day long. He is not strong enough in his lower body to make a difference right now. T Moore played much better than Rome this weekend

I love our up tempo offense. I think it is fast enough, otherwise why would the opponents fake injuries so they can catch their breath and bring in subs? I think our issue in this game was Rex. He was pretty obviously not 100%. I love his guttiness but I think we should have given the Frosh more reps. Not faulting Rex at all. I love his game, but he is unable to make those cuts in traffic that we have seen all year due to his gimpy ankle

Really like watching Martinez mature before our eyes. It looks like the lightbulb is finally starting to turn on. BTW - Bell had the wrong hand position on that diving catch. You cradle the ball to ensure it doesn't hit the ground when you dive like that. His hand position added to him not holding on to the ball when he rolled over IMHO

has played very solidly for us this year. However, NFL?? Anyone heard of Brad Cottam. had a cup of coffee with the Chiefs. He reminded me of Cotton.

It will be important for us to get off to a good start. PSU will come out fired up but it will be easy for them to lose heart, given the circumstances. I don't think the game plan will change this late in the week. If Bradley does this then PSU will lose big, for sure. Besides, Joe was more of a figurehead in the last couple of years than a coach.

I am not giving up on Bo and the team, but we have a right to be disappointed. Our effort, with a few exceptions (Tmagic, Baker, Rex) was horrible Saturday. They were not ready to defend their turf.

that somewhere inside of TMagic, there is a qb that comes out every once in awhile. We just need to bring it out in him more often that Burkhead should have been spelled more by the freshman. He was clearly hurt out there -- limped all game long that hopefully Steinkuhler is coming into his own as a DT. He was a beast throughout the game. that the players were not the only ones that had trouble getting up for the game after beating MSU. Our coaches at all positions, as well as Bo, were out-coached and out-schemed all day long. that we can't cover a crossing route to save our lives. that we are not quite ready for prime time
