Eric the Red
It seems this comparison continues to pop up. It appears with the scholarships remaining, the Huskers can only take one. Who do you prefer? Coby Fleener Jacob Amie Quote Link to comment
DJR313
That's a tough call. A gamebreaker at TE would be nice, but a WR that can catch the ball, break a tackle and move the chains is valuable is well. With all things being equal, I guess I would rather have Fleener if he is a bonafide stud like Amie(not all that familiar with Fleener's prowess). The Huskers have been missing the threat at TE since Herian was injured in 04. There are several good WR prospects that the Huskers currently have on the roster. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
I'd have to give the nod to Fleener since he has a few more inches in the height dept and both are fairly close in speed. Fleener is also supposed to be an excellent basketball and baseball player so his athletic ability is a plus. Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
They both seem to be pretty good at catching the football, so I would take the one that is better at blocking, since they will be doing that more than recieving. Quote Link to comment
Alex 4.0
Both are being recruited as a TE.... in the mould of sort of a TE/WR hybrid. But from what i have read Fleener has some serious wheels, getting close to a 4.4 40 now, and with his size.... he could be a tough matchup for a LB when he breaks off the line to go out for a pass. Don't get me wrong, Amie would be good....and a fairly similar situation, BUT Fleener's speed and size combo are slightly better so I like him. And the fact that Stanford wants him i am guessing he is fairly intelligent, so that is a big plus. BTW, I get the feeling that he is Stanford's to lose....so I would be happy with Amie. Correct, I need to change that. They are both TE Quote Link to comment
BigBL87
I'd be happy with either, but I would prefer Fleener. Like someone said, with the wheels that he has for his size, I think he'd be more of a "big play" TE. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Fleener....... Quote Link to comment
husker rob
how about Fleener and Amie Quote Link to comment
mahoney
Fleener is a cardinal. Cross him off your list. He is only waiting on admissions to make it official. Quote Link to comment
MCAT800
We have to have a gamebreaker @ TE, who ever that would be. Quote Link to comment
Spartness
Is there any truth that Amie will go to Texas now that the Horns apparently lost its TE recruit? Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
We have to have a gamebreaker @ TE, who ever that would be. you are absolutely correct!!!!! i have said that all year Quote Link to comment
