kjstrouble
So how would Callahan do with this squad next year (with some new assistants)? It's worth considering. no, it is not! Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Thanks, hope that TO and the new coach will re-evaluate Ronnell. I would hate to see a solid legacy player go to another school. Like Darius Rucker, for example? Quote Link to comment

Like Darius Rucker, for example? Is he the player that went to Missouri? And yeah, like that. And Ronnell will be going somewhere - given that Central is going to state (GO EAGLES). admo
Will be interesting to see if some of these recievers can become playmakers. And the LB situation - will be interesting to see how they develope as well. Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
Is Justin Makovicka related to Joel? What really upsets me is I do not see Ronnell Grixby on the list of incoming players. Did I miss him, or is the word out at Central High correct that his scholarship has been pulled and he is not coming to NU? Yes Justin is the third youngest brother of the Mak family, and Jordan fourth and last I believe. Both are playin for East Butler As for Ronnell.. yeah his scholarship got pulled I guess because they changed his mind cuz he "wasn't good enough" or some bullcrap. DeAntae the big brother of the Grixby family was pretty damn pissed about that and Courtney.. only half as pissed. Thanks, hope that TO and the new coach will re-evaluate Ronnell. I would hate to see a solid legacy player go to another school. Note to Chizek....potential new recruit for Iowa State. Handle it just like we did with that Bates kid.... Quote Link to comment
1_NUFAN
So how would Callahan do with this squad next year (with some new assistants)? It's worth considering. No - Cally could do jacks**t with the talent that he had this year. He has a habit of taking potentially good players and turning them to underachievers. He can not motivate. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
We definately have the talent to get it done next season. If the right coach comes in here I think we could win the North again and compete for the Big XII title next season. Quote Link to comment
NoLongerN
I'm not encourage by the by the current talent nor that that is coming in. IMHO, the Huskers will struggle next year to another 500 season. We've just lost so much ground on other programs. We usually see 0-2 five star athletes, 1-4 four star athletes and the rest 3 stars or less. When I look at the best programs, the top five, you will see a 5-7-10 type ratio. They get the best of the best year in and out over a stretch of years. Yes, if we get the right coach ... and he instills a new attitude, then things can change by next year. But real growth comes with quality players ... and we have not had that nor do I see it in the pipes. To me, we are kidding ourselves if we think "we are back". We are not ... and it is a real bummer. Mark Quote Link to comment
newenglandhusker
I was under the impression that the Makovicka family had a contractual obligation to provide Husker Nation with a Fullback every 5-6 years. No? I thought I read that somewhere, too... Quote Link to comment
admo
It should be clearly understood that you dont win on paper. The potential is there though. Quote Link to comment

I would hate to see a solid legacy player go to another school. Justin is a redshirt freshman this year at Nebraska. Ronnell had some character redflags but the new staff should re-evaluate the situation for themselves. Quote Link to comment
DeathCultArmaggedon
Thanks, hope that TO and the new coach will re-evaluate Ronnell. I would hate to see a solid legacy player go to another school. Personally, I don't think it makes a difference if he is a legacy or not. If he has character flaws, I don't want him playing for us. We don't need any additional problems stacked on top of our current situation. Obviously I think that TO and the new coach should re-evaluate everyone, including Ronnell. However, I think that giving him a scholarship and overlooking obvious character flaws because he is a legacy is ridiculous. Quote Link to comment
DeathCultArmaggedon
Oh, and BTW, thanks a lot Addison Mode for hooking the board up with this well-researched and exceptional post. A lot of good information here. Quote Link to comment
