What is our record next year?

You people are seriously saying we are going to lose at Wisky..They bring in a brand new qb, who will have no competition in the offseason since the projected started went down for the year, on top of that it will be his first big 10 game, can you say pressure?? and nebraska will be jacked as hell to make a statement, stack the box with 7-8, shut down the run, and it's easy as cake, wisky has a weak recieving corp, ill bet anyone on this board we walk out with a W, 10-1 odds, and no im not drinking kool aid either

Do these 10-1 odds include the possibility of Wisconsin having Russell Wilson at quarterback, the senior from NC State?

Nothing is for sure yet, but let's say that Wisconsin does get Wilson. He's had a lot of experience, he's played in big games and he's got skill. Wisconsin's biggest problem this year is going to be quarterback, and if they get Wilson I believe they're going to be a very dangerous team.

If they don't get Wilson then I feel better about the game. But regardless, Madison is a tough environment and Wisconsin is a very physical football team. We haven't faced that kind of running attack in years. They're a much better team than you're giving them credit for.

While I think 10:1 is crazy, having Russell Wilson won't mean squat. He's played in an entirely different offense, and put up good stats in arguably the second worst BCS league.

I'll go 100000000000 to 1, wisconsin and iowa are the two big ten teams NU is MOST likely to beat. Can you imagine showing up with that BS grade-school offense against Pelini's deepest Nebraska D-Line, and best overall Blackshirt D? What a clown fest those contests will be.

How old are you? Serious question.

I think it will mean more than squat. You're talking about bringing in a guy who has a pretty good amount of experience as opposed to a quarterback that as none and is extremely young. His former conference and offense aside, he could find a place at Wisconsin where they don't ask a lot of their quarterback. His mobility will also help him out. He's a good player. Nothing amazing, but still good in my opinion.

gotta agree with saunders on this one. wilson looks average at best and would have almost no time to learn their offense which is completely different than he has ran in the past. learning a college offense is not that easy.

You do realize the Wisconsin offense scored 83 points against Indiana, 70 against Northwestern and put up 70 points against a bad non-con team, right? They also scored fewer than 20 points once, went over 40 points five times and went over 30 points eight times? They also put up respectable point totals against good defenses in Iowa and Ohio State.

This "BS grade-school offense" scored 539 points last season. For comparison, Nebraska only put up 432. They also have an offensive identity, something Nebraska hasn't had in years.

Furthermore, how are Wisconsin and Iowa the two teams we're most likely to beat next year when we play Minnesota and Northwestern?

I'm all for sippin' the koolaid but these are bold proclamations that don't make a lot of sense.

Nobody said learning a college offense was easy, but there have been one year transfer quarterbacks in the past that were extremely successful. It can be done, although I'm not saying it will be.

Pretend you're a fan of Wisconsin. Somebody earlier said that Wisconsin lost their projected starter for the year and right now the number one guy was the previous number 2. Given that, would you rather rely on this young, inexperienced quarterback, or a guy who has played in a BCS conference and won games?

I'm not saying Wilson is the second coming of Cam Newton, in fact far from it. Newton was an amazing athlete. But this team does get better with Wilson at the helm as opposed to what they have now. Drastically better? Maybe, maybe not. I don't have answer for that. But Wisconsin with Wilson is better than Wisconsin without, and the way their fans talk about their quarterback position only justifies that they're worried about it right now.

It's certainly possible, I don't disagree. But it's also possible that Martinez throws for 3000 and runs for 1,000 too. I'd say they are both as likely to not happen...

Nearly everything you said about Wisconsin can be said about us next year with the exception of a new QB. We've got a cocky, volatile sophomore.

-OUR first Big 10 game (at night, no less)

-ALL our guys first Big 10 game

-Jacked as hell to make a statement - I think that goes both ways....

-Stack the box to stop OUR run. Check

-Weak receiving corp - we have BK and that's it.

-Oh yeah, and it's a home game for them

Right now our record next year is 0-0.

Nebraska's record for the 2011 season will be 14-0.

Sorry to burst all those easy picks for the L's with the whos who of the BIG 10 but.................

Nebraska will not certainly not lose to overhyped overconfident Wisconsin in primetime. Camp where? I don't give a damn if it's in Madison.

They won't lose to humble humiliated tail between their legs Ohio State in Lincoln

and they won't lose to Michigan (what have you done for me lately) State.

and they won't lose to Penn (over optomistic for no reason because we choke in the stretch every time) State.

If anybody beats Nebraska it's going to be a scrappy Northwestern Squad or a hyped up emotional Iowa in the season finale.

I think a lot of you forget we are going to have one of the best defensive units in the country and the potential at offense is fantastic. The New offense is going to click and that powder keg is going to blow.

Optomistic? Always. Realistic? Without a doubt.
