Jared Crick is currently in seventh place in Husker history with 19 career sacks. He would need 10.5 sacks to break Trev Alberts' career record of 29.5. The question - can he do it?

Nebraska will almost certainly play 13 games this year, and if they make the CCG they'll play 14 games. That means Crick needs to have less than one sack per game to break the record - but he's also competing with the rest of the D Line, LBs and Corners for those sacks.

Last year our opponents gave up these sacks:

Opponent	GM	Sack	AVG
Chattanooga	11 15 1.4
Fresno State	13	36	2.8
Washington	13	24	1.8
Wyoming 12	31	2.6
Wisconsin	13	14	1.1
Ohio State	13	22	1.7
Minnesota	12	17	1.4
Michigan State	13	24	1.8
Northwestern	13	40	3.1
Penn State	13	11	0.8
Michigan	13	11	0.8
Iowa 13	20	1.5

The NCAA doesn't have stats for Tenn-Chatt, at least not that I found.

EDIT! +1 to Got Carl? for finding the Tenn-Chatt numbers for me.

I didn't realize he was that close. I think with all the hype he's gotten, teams will definitely be looking to double team him, cutting down on his sack numbers. I voted for "Will not break the record" and "8 sacks." Despite the double teams, I could see him getting 8 sacks, he's a good enough player to put up that number.

I choose the Iowa game I think he will get some sacks early in the year to get him started. Then during the minneosta and Michigan st these two games he with have a good game. Minne due to there perceived bad o line and Michigan State with a non mobile qb in Cousins Bo will send the hounds to get the pressure on him. Then I picked the Iowa game due to being late in the season and I would to see Crick throw the bones after he breaks the record while stepping over the iowa qb(have the hate Iowa bias in my opinion live in CB)! If we had stayed in the Big12...yes. In the B1G, no. He might get a few if we play that 3-4...but I think we'll be stuffing the run a little more than sacking QBs. He'll have a boatload of TFLs though.

A guy like Cousins in a more pass-happy system only throws 320+- times a season. Persa 300+-.

Gabbert attempted 475+- Landry something like 600. Crick had probably (and I didn't research this entirely) 20% more chances to sack the QB during a game in the Big12.

Would it be a hassle to post the top 7 --- so we can see who is between Trev and Crick?
