(2013) C/PF Akoy Agau [Georgetown Commit]

I think he gets buried again at Georgetown, way too many talented front court players to compete with.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a career 5 min guy.

Yeah, I wish him well, but will be surprised if he is much of a factor at GT.....
Hell with morrow Jacobson and hopefully a big guy in the next class he probably wouldn't have been much of a factor here. Not saying he wouldn't have helped next year but I think he was way over hyped coming out of high school.

Don't think we have room for an additional big guy in next year's class..........

Not to say he is terrible or the "whatever didn't want him anyways" rhetoric that always follows missed recruits. He would of been an asset here. Just saying he got passed over by more talented freshmen at Louisville b/c that is how that program works, they get big time recruits every year. Looking at Gerogetown's last two classes they have been raking in a lot of 6'8" and up talent.

Not without someone leaving.

So basically we don't have anyone on the team. Great.

We have two scorers that are good at slashing to the basket. We have what I believe is a very good point guard in Smith and one coming in from Chicago. What we are missing is good outside shooter and (as I said before) a big in the middle.

So, of those two, we take the one who wants to be here. We need both. As someone said, we potentially have another big coming in as a Freshman next year in either Morrow and Jacobson.

So, yes, we have players on the team. We have some very good players on the team. There are more positions than big guys in the middle and outside shooters.

We currently have a great shooter (Fuller) who barely gets off the bench because of lack of defense. We have a great shooter (White) who'll be eligible next year. We have other players who can score who can make up for not having a great shooter. There is no other way to make up for not having bigs.

I'm really not sure how people are able to say one guy wants to be here and the other doesn't. Agau already visited last week and was coming back today. Sounds like he wanted to be here pretty badly to me. Seems like the reason he hadn't committed here we because we apparently didn't want him. That's fine, but let's put the talk about who wants to be here away.

I meant whenever the next recruiting cycle is. Basketball recruiting has always confused me.

Glissman said that he talked to Akoy and he was unsure where he was going. He stated that he would like him at NE, but alluded that it probably will not be the case. He was not sure he would come back to Nebraska do to the pressure of having to be that great NE player.

So, like I have said (doesn't matter the reason) one player really wanted to be here and the other one was unsure if he wanted to be here.

Take the one who is sure.

And maybe he would have wanted to be here more and would have felt more comfortable if we actually wanted him.

Who said we didn't want him?

Its the hot rumor going around.

I dont buy it.

If Akoy wanted to be here, I think we make room for him. He dragged his feet and so we went and got another kid.

Naaaa....we really wanted him. Heck, we basically recruited him twice and kept in touch with him in between those times. We offered him a scholarship both times that we would have gladly allowed him to accept if he would have committed. The fact is, he never would. He would always show interest but if other programs showed interest, he was looking elsewhere with always that slight chance of coming back.

OK...he was coming to visit this week. He had been recruited FULLY right out of HS. He has been to Nebraska probably more than any other top basketball recruit in the nation. He has been to football games. He has been to basketball games. He has taken an official visit here before. I'm pretty sure he knows Miles pretty well by now and knows the kind of guy he is. IF he wanted to be here, he would be here.

So, he feels he needed to have one more official visit here this week to some how make up his mind?

Come on.....

I really wish he was here and I think Miles really wishes he was here. But, he isn't. Time to move on.

Multiple reports that he didn't have an actual offer.

And of course, it's just a huge coincidence that he commits to Georgetown on the day he's supposed to be here for another visit but he cancels his visit after we get a different commitment from another player. It definitely makes more sense that he was just stringing us along all this time and really wanted to go to Georgetown all along. Wouldn't make any sense that he really wanted to come here but had to keep other options open in case we didn't actually come through with an offer and then only committed elsewhere once we told him we didn't have room for him.
