Count 'Bility
Officiating is horrible. A dark cloud on and otherwise great conference. Is it elite right now? No. But college football is cyclical. Heck, look at Bama. They and the SEC maybe on the downward as we speak. No SEC team in the top 3. We know as well as anyone what one loss can do to a program. I believe the Big 10 will be back very shortly, and I have firm belief that Ohio St, Michigan, and Nebraska will be the bellcows to that of what Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska were. I'm perfectly happy here. I love the style of football. Hardnosed, playing defense, some conventional. Thats what I like. Towards the end in the Big12, the overoffenses were and are getting ridiculous. Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
I think the B1G is superior in every way to the Big12 except for one: National respect. Based on the B1G's performance in big-time bowl games recently (over the last 4 or 5 years) people outside of the B1G seem to chuckle with the mention of the B1G. This needs to change, and it needs to start with Nebraska getting to the Rose Bowl and beating whatever team they play. Hopefully either Stanford or Notre Dame. Or if Wisconsin or Michigan happen to get to the Rose Bowl, they had better kick some @ss there as well. This conference is in need of a few quality non-conference wins. Edit: just read accountability's post above. I will also say that the officiating is atrocious. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Love the change so far and love that I get to watch the Huskers play every weekend without having to pay a ton of money for PPV. Don't miss listening to the terrible fans from KSUcks and sCUm run their mouths all the time. The tradition in the conference is great and Nebraska just "fits in" the B1G. Quote Link to comment
bball_backer
I like the B1G and think the move needed to be made. However, I miss Big 12 football. I grew up making fun of Big 10 football and, unfortunately, this is one of those years that the conference is living up to it's reputation. And no, I'm not just talking about wanting to see offense, I like good defensive play, but the lack of athletes makes for some boring games. Absolutely love BTN. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerNationNick
The best thing about the B1G, is the television coverage! NO MORE PPV!!! Lol Anyway, love the conference. Teams and fans are respectful. BTN is a big fave of mine. Just a lot of positive, just wish the conference was a little stronger this year. Sucks our second year in, two teams are ineligible for bowl games too lol. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
I like the TV coverage that we have on the B1G, but I also do NOT like the no night game in November policy. I miss our normal Big XII foes, but am digging the B1G schedule as well. I'm a torn man. i think they will be changing this very soon Glad to hear this. This and the myopic college baseball recruiting restrictions are the two things I have qualms with. Otherwise, the B1G has been a godsend for Nebraska, and perhaps vice versa for this season? The CIC, the BTN, and no crooked Texass to deal with. And I'm sorry, but I can't get behind the Big 8 nostalgia--they all stabbed Nebraska in the back, and they can go do something anatomically impossible to themselves as far as that is concerned. They're all vermin. Quote Link to comment
BlueInTheFace
Btw, I'm going to just make this thread every year from now on. Look forward to to 2054: "How do you feel about the B1G implementing hoverboarding robots?" 2 Quote Link to comment

mrandyk
My hate for Iowa has grown. Sharing a border was enough for me, sharing a conference with them has been intolerable. Quote Link to comment
Malth
Last year was the 1st time I've been able to watch every single game on TV, and the same is happening this year. That alone is a huge plus for me. I'd like a few more night games, but at least we're not stuck playing a bunch of bullsh#t 11AM games. Quote Link to comment

WoodyHayes1951
Glad to have you guys. This conference needs more Football schools. It really is a Bball conference at heart unfortunately.(Iowa,Minny,Illinois, IU, PU, Sparty) We are already a man down with PSU being out of commission for at least 5 years. Quote Link to comment
Hammerhead
The Big 10 is superior to the Big XII in every way as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, the officiating's bad a lot of the time, but I'll take the bad officiating in the B1G over the flat-out biased officiating in the Big XII. At least here the bad calls go both ways. Stickney
The OFFICIATING??? Seriously??? How soon ya'll forget -- The Big XII officiating was TERRIBLE. And the last go round was atrocious if not corrupt. B1G officiating has been at least consistent, if a bit nit-picky. And yes I used "ya'll". It's a useful term when used judiciously.
