Should've never left the Big 12...

I felt that the decision to move to the Big10 was wrong from the beginning. We left all of our tradition behind and went to this overrated conference. NU made a hasty, emotional decision

after an another ill-fated venture to the Big 12 title game. Bo's team was built to stop teams with speed (Mizzou, OU, Ttech, Okie Lite, to name a few). Wisconsin was shoving us around all day

on Saturday. Their offensive linemen dwarfed our front four. Taylor had no protection up front to speak of. His big run was a fluke scramble. Sure it was a good play but cmon man he cant pull that out of his butt more than once a game...

And now look, the big dogs in the Big 12 are shadows of their former selves. Texas is mediocre, OU is much weaker than they used to be. KSU is overrated we would've ended their season before it started.

the rest of the Big 12 is laughable. Give me Kansas or Iowa State before Michigan State and Wisconsin. Sure some will say that those teams have beaten us in the past. But the fact is the bottom feeders in

the Big12 are much more beatable than their counterparts in the Big10. Some say that Texas was too greedy and we had to go. This is true, I hate Texas with a passion, but we still could've negotiated with them if we would've manned up and took care of our business. We could've said give us a Cornhusker network and you can have your Longhorn network. We could've had our own profits and they theirs.

Yes Texas is a greedy sumbitch but we could've even negotiated a Big 12 network or something. No, we had to take our woes on the football field and we put them on the negotiating table. The Big10 pays their schools a lot more but I bet all we are doing is paying Bo and his idiot staff.

I know its a dead horse but... there was no way we should've been beaten that bad. We had some bad days in the Big 12 but at least we were competitive in the championship games. WTF was this crap

that BO put on the field. He is not giving any answers. All he says is "If you think you can do better you come coach here." Well I'm not the one being paid a handsome salary. He obviously had way more talent at LSU and that was thanks to the Hat. At LSU he could sit in a nickel formation all day because the players are nfl talent. We are not the talented. We are ok but idk anyone on this team who will be in the pros. Name one that will be a starter in the NFL someday. Maybe Burkhead but he's too fragile to really play with the big boys. If he was that good he would've done much better than he has. Abdullah will be much better than Burkhead and he could be a lot better if we had a decent RB coach.

Bo needs to start holding his people accountable. Our ten wins mean nothing now. Georgia is a more interesting opponent than Stanford but I would much rather have been a conference champion.

NU needs to get Bo a better OC thats for sure bro. I see no creativity with this team on both sides of the ball. Same nickel formation with maybe one blitz a game, yeah that sounds like a good defensive scheme. We never run trick plays on offense or even a basic counter play anymore. How many times has Taylor tucked the ball and scrambled on 3rd and 10 cuz no one was open? I've lost count. How many bone headed penalties has Stafford committed? Again I've lost count. Where is the coaching? 3 years later we are still getting called for clipping, holding, and flagrant PI. Papuchis is a clown. No class, no restraint he just jumps around like a friggin monkey or just stands there with a blank look on his face. None of the coaches ever go around and tell the players what needs to be done better or how to do it better. I miss the days when Bo would get in his players face. But he has had to back off from because he gets to out of control.

I swear if one of these assistant coaches isn't let go at the end of the season, I will eat my hat. They are getting paid way too much to allow our players to get manhandled like that. This was maybe the worst loss ever... How could the players have played that badly? We had plenty to play for. We were playing a bad Wisconsin team. We were on a hotstreak. And we lay a giant turd on the field. There are

no excuses Bo! Wtf happend out there??? Bo is officially on the hot seat. Even if we somehow beat Georgia that Wisconsin game was just...just....bad... I'm sorry my first post is a rant but wow

The Big Ten is a much better fit for the culture of the university. The only reason we haven't fit in yet with football is because we are still transitioning from being the only physical team in a finesse conference to being maybe one of the least physical teams in a power conference.

Bo and Co. NEED to hit the recruiting trail HARD and get a stable of big guys on both offense and defense so we can start to compete at the line of scrimmage.

These lamentations over leaving the Big XII are so short-sighted. That conference was a train wreck from its inception, it was south-centric and it was never going to change while we remained a part. If it was such a great conference, why did Missouri, A&M and Colorado bail? Why are the best replacements they can find TCU and West Virginia?

It's astounding how quickly people forget just how poor of a fit the Big XII was for Nebraska.

One blowout loss and suddenly we're crying for "the good old days" which were never, ever good to us. Get some perspective, for God's sake.

Hell.. let's just move to D2. That way we can win all of our games. :sarcasm

SMH. It doesn't matter who they put in front of us... we should beat them all.

If we can't win in the B1G, we can't win at all. We'd probably have the same, or worse, record in the Big XII. Moving to the Big Ten was the right move for the University, and I don't see any downside to playing football in this conference over playing in the Big XII and still being under Texas's thumb. To hell with negotiating with them.

Agreed. We're way better off in the B1G than in the B12. The Whorns own that conference lock, stock and barrel. Is there any other conference in the nation where one team has it's own television network, and the other teams are simply out in the cold? I'm glad to be rid of those greedy TU bastages. I only wish we would've beat them a time or two at the end. I feel like I didn't get closure--leaving after a string of losses to the Whorns like we had.

I don't know anyone in Nebraska who cares about football who isn't frustrated with our team after the game. What has Rex not accomplished that you think he should have? He played behind Roy Helu for 2 years which limited his carries. This year he was injured for all but 5 games. He is both capable of getting the tough yards and eluding tacklers in the open field. What about Ron Brown don't you like as a running backs coach? We are 10th in the nation this year in rushing in a conference built to stop the run. Your argument doesn't hold water.

The penalty situation for the O line is down this year. Even with 3 former walkons as starters, Cotton has improved them this year. Our rushing stats are up as well. There is room for improvement I will agree. Laying the blame on Pap as the D coordinator is probably wrong. I think Bo still has his hands in the defense every week and during gametime. I'm not sure its a good idea for him to do so but it's not Paps fault. Are you at every game to see if coaches talk to players during games or are you basing your opinion from what you see on tv?

On the last point I think Bo's seat may have gotten warmer but he is not on the hot seat. Our schedule in the Big 10 will be much easier the next 2 years. He will win more than enough games to keep his job. Winning the Big 10 championship will go through Ohio State every year however, which won't be easy. Bo is not going anywhere soon. Programs with a bigger footprint than ours won't be beating down his door and his pride wouldn't let him accept a smaller position. Until he recruits defensive players that can compete in the Big 10 we will continue to be a 9-4, 10-3 team. We have Qb's in the system that will make this offense very effective. Taylor M for all his skills and improved performance this year is not the ideal Qb for Becks system. He is an improved version of Jamaal Lord. Excellent athlete with great physical skills but limited in his abilities to be a field general. Still he is the best we have last year and this year as far as we know. Armstrong should be a good one in the future and Johnny Stanton could be ideal for Beck.

For now I'll live with what we have, grit my teeth some days and rejoice on others. I will always be a Husker fan however and will root for whoever wears our colors on saturday afternoons.

I happen to disagree with OP.

I think we will be just fine.

I will say, though, thanks for sharing your opinion, it is appreciated (by me, anyway). I hope that you come around in the end. The Big 12 was Texas's little office, and still is. We are very lucky to be out from under that wreck.

Best wishes,

Flood

There is so much wrong with your post OP, I don't even know where to begin.

Nobody on this team will ever play in the NFL? Lols. Hahahaha.

It's amazing how we get smoked by Wisky and now our entire team is crap and we should be playing in a different conference, etc. No wonder I attempt to avoid the internets after losses.

P.S. THE WORLD IS ENDING.

Agreed.

Folks -- the Big XII was imploding under Texas's weight and the pacified majority (KSU, KU, OSU, TT, etc).

Second, the B1G is/was terrible this year and NU couldn't win the CCG. Meanwhile, the Big XII was DEEP.
