Brouhaha
Isnt it concerning at all that we only have Knevel as Highschool linemen go in this class? If not, why? Just trying to learn more. Quote Link to comment

dylan
I actually am concerned with only having two high school linemen. It's nice that both of the jucos could be here three years, but we still need at least three high school linemen in every class. It particularly hurts when we only took two last year. Let's hope we can still land Johnson and that we continue to develop quality walkons. Quote Link to comment
Brouhaha
Shoot.. that's really pathetic on my part. Quote Link to comment
flatwaterfan
Maybe they will offer Sayles as a guard or center? Quote Link to comment
C N Red
It looks underwhelming, but I think we have some really good walk ons that could get alot of playing time eventually. It always happens, walk-on lineman beat out schollie linemen at times. And it's not necessarily b/c the schollie OL are that bad, it's just that alot of the walk-ons are from small Nebraska towns, don't get recruited much, and play against inferior talent. But, when they get on campus, and get pushed to be the best they can be by guys just as good and better than them, they develop into damn good players. Many OL walkons we get could very well be high 3 star and 4 star guys if they played in Texas, florida, ohio, etc. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I don't see our O line class as being underwhelming at all. Sure, we have a number of JUCOs. But, I really like what we have. Quote Link to comment
Redmusky
high school , juco talent is talent it makes no difference where the coaches find it Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
To me that's why it's still important to have that mix of Scholarship/highly recruited lineman and walk-ons. We have to have both here. They bring out the best in each other through competition. And if you decide to back down and not earn it, it's next man up. Quote Link to comment
dylan
It certainly doesn't matter where the talent comes from, but at a position that is so hard to predict success for, we should get at least three scholarship high school kids per year, and we are possibly looking at only two for the second year in a row. caveman99
I like what the staff was able to do this cycle. Got a couple of holes caused by attrition filled with 2 very good JUCOs and 3 very good HS players to add to the pipeline. Quote Link to comment
dylan
Yup. I would have preferred four high school linemen, but can't complain at all about this OL class. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
4 designated O linemen ~ 1200 lbs...there's the beef! Welcome to the Big 10 boys! We need help now, so some JUCOs are alright...hope to see more HS O-linemen next class for sure. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I believe we have five - Knevel, Hannon, Johnson, Finnin & Kolondo. Somewhere in the 1,450 lbs range. Quote Link to comment

Yep..missed Kolondo..I was lazy and just looked at the Pinned / Signed listings in the 2013 Class listings. For some reason I thought we had 6 and 6 for the OL/DL..did one of our Olinemen drop? Either way, good to see some big boys ready to play up front. Quote Link to comment
