Chimalli
I'm no Bo Pelini sunshine pumper union member, but that move was low. Think of all the people behind the scenes who have to fix this. It was cold, calculated, and intended for maximum damage...the list of suspects is short. Who ever did this obviously failed to think it through. Quote Link to comment
nemajordude
Don't shoot the messenger. The slimeball is Bo for calling out Nebraska fans who happen to pay his salary. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Good luck in finding another job that pays 3 million. Sorry, no. Maybe Bo was stupid for saying what he did in front of an open mic just before starting his show. But it was a conversation between three people (sounds like). They were speaking in hushed tones. Have you ever gone home to your spouse and complained about your boss and called him a farkhead? Ever vented to your neighbors or your best friend? This was a betrayal of epic proportions. 4 Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
very well said, knapp. another positive from this, we will know where bo stands with the administration. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
Hilarious. The person who says "Eff you, fans!" isn't called out for having no regard for the fans; rather, it's the person who released the recording who has no regard for those fans! Priceless. You guys have Stockholm Syndrome -- a classic case if I've ever seen one! There are over 700 replies to this thread, all evincing shock at Pelini's actions in some form or another. Everyone agrees Bo will have to answer for what he said. But that's a separate issue from the tool who released this recording. HuskerBoard, you see, is capable of walking and chewing gum. Simultaneously. I was calling out the utter absurdity of thinking that it's the person releasing the recording who lacks respect for the fans. Of course this was a calculated release by someone with an agenda. So what? It was the perfect time to release it. People have legitimate reasons to want Pelini gone, and some may have legitimate reasons to have their identities concealed. That's how things work. No, that's not how things work. You want Pelini gone--you release the tape THAT DAY. You don't wait two f****** years to release that tape. That's not how things work. The guy who released it is garbage and he's not getting what he wants from. He'll get the exact opposite. God I hate how much I've been enjoying agreeing with a 12 year old. Once again +1 junior I'm pretty level headed for being 12. It's okay, don't let my age fool you. Quote Link to comment
Goal-line
While it is highly unfortunate, for all of Husker Nation, that any of this has transpired, Pelini, and he alone, is responsible for his actions. Whatever the intent of the person who released this tape, no head coach should put himself in a position to have had this circumstance occur. Why would any head coach ever make statements like that, in any venue, at any time?]/b] Why? I feel for the players as they are the ones who will have the difficult task of hanging together through all of this. I will be cheering louder than ever---------for the players. Because he's a human, too. But please tell me you'd never do a thing like that, no, certainly not. I have been involved in coaching at various levels for the past 42 years. Never, did I ever fly off of the handle at fans, media, parents or players like that. Never! When you assume positions that expect integrity, honesty, dignity, and respect, you simply do not do those things. There is no justification. End of story! 2 Quote Link to comment

It seemed to be released perfectly for the desired effect. You reap what you sow, Bo! And for those masochists wanting the person who released this tape to go public, I hope you equally wish that Pelini had told you to "Eff off!" right to your faces (you know, rather than behind your backs like the coward/bully that he is). 1 Quote Link to comment
RedDenver
Knapp you may have just changed my opinion on this whole situation. I was heading onto the fire Pelini bandwagon, but this has completely changed my mind. Now I'm not going to let myself make any decisions until the entire season has played out. What this tape reminds me of most is how much good Pelini has done. Players graduating, few getting in trouble, helping kids with cancer, etc, etc, etc. I hope the coward responsible for this tape is exposed. Then the shoe will be on the other foot. +1 to knapp Quote Link to comment

Bowfin
Speaking as a Nebraska fan, Pelini shouldn't have said that about me unless he was willing to say it to my face. Then again, my standards of behavior and decorum might not match whatever the rest of you are willing to accept. I am glad I found out what and how he really thinks, regardless of how it came about. The tone of this thread is akin to a wife getting mad at the person who tells her that hubby has been cheating on her for years...but again personal preferences can't be debated, it's whatever yuo are okay with... 2 Quote Link to comment
