Stop dissing Lebron James

Recommended Posts

I do not like Kobe. I don't like that he is cocky, but the man is a fighter. I respect him for that. I still don't like him.

LeBron James has no redeeming qualities, imo. I have seen the "flops" that are ridiculous and now the cramps. I understand he is more prone to them with his condition and that he pays special attention to them, but come on. Take yourself out of the game earlier and more often. If you know you are susceptible to something, be proactive about fighting it or in this case relaxing/shutting down more.

Everybody out there had to deal with the same conditions. No different than the argument Nebraska only beat Georgia because the field was wet and Georgia couldn't make cut moves on it.

huskerjock the rest of those are fine and made me smirk a little but i hope you realize that playing with the flu is nothing like a cramp right?

Right but I wouldn't down play the flu either. I had the flu a few weeks before Christmas that got me sick for 3 days and causing me to miss two days of work (sunday-tuesday) ....it can be really nasty. Just go watch the video of the Flu game and see how much MJ struggled in that game to stand up but yet put up 38 points.

My whole problem with it is the way he was taken off of the court. He was doing fine by himself and got like 10 ft away from the bench and then they carried him to the bench. C'mon Man

Dehydration is the kryptonite to even elite athletes. Anyone can clamor that he should have overcome this mentally and inserted himself back into the game. If you are saying that, you obviously have never been dehydrated. Since his trainers know this is a problem, we can be sure they are doing everything possible to prevent it.

I don't disagree with your point - you can't do much once your body gives out.

My question is why does it keep happening to him? Do you know any other player in any major sport who's had this happen more than once in the last 10 years? I can't think of any.

Most of the season is played during cooler weather, though maybe not so much in Miami but most cities it could be freezing outside and he isn't using up fluids during the day. Now however it is summertime and if he doesn't pay attention during the day and hydrate properly he is already in fluid debt by gametime. Some athletes sweat more than others during the same workout. My son could lose 8-10 pounds during 2-adays for football. He had to drink all evening till bedtime to put fluids back in his body.

He was quoted as saying this is a problem that's dogged him since high school and that he's had specialists try to figure out what the problem is and they never have found anything wrong. He said he drank so much during the game that his stomach couldn't take anymore. I don't know where SI put the story, but I'm paraphrasing because I couldn't find it.
