Stop dissing Lebron James

That's great. You have physical limitations just like everyone else. I don't care. But be a man and walk to the bench. The getting carried part is just insane. Come on, man!

I played sports growing up. I wasn't any good, but I enjoyed them. I also hated water. I still don't care for it, but now I understand better why I need it. I have had some terrible cramps in my life. Note the hatred of water. The biggest this you can do is stretch out, flex it, or put pressure on them to get them to go away when the muscle is siezed. Getting carried to the bench is just...just undescribably pathetic and shameful for someone being touted as the greatest. That is something I would expect of a 10 year-old, not a professional.

Can't imagine why anyone would want to do anything other than walk it off if you have a leg cramp. The last thing I would want is to be carried like that and to sit down. Doesn't make much sense to me. I think there's a distinct possibility he was just hamming it up.

Many if not most of the professional players, especially in the NBA, understand the idea of a TV moment with themselves in the spot light. It makes a return to action look that much more glorious if he can be seen limping or carried off the court. I'm not saying LJ asked to be carried or thought he could come back. It looked more like his team mates wanted to help in whatever way they could.

Dehydration is the kryptonite to even elite athletes. Anyone can clamor that he should have overcome this mentally and inserted himself back into the game. If you are saying that, you obviously have never been dehydrated. Since his trainers know this is a problem, we can be sure they are doing everything possible to prevent it.

I don't disagree with your point - you can't do much once your body gives out.

My question is why does it keep happening to him? Do you know any other player in any major sport who's had this happen more than once in the last 10 years? I can't think of any.

Most of the season is played during cooler weather, though maybe not so much in Miami but most cities it could be freezing outside and he isn't using up fluids during the day. Now however it is summertime and if he doesn't pay attention during the day and hydrate properly he is already in fluid debt by gametime. Some athletes sweat more than others during the same workout. My son could lose 8-10 pounds during 2-adays for football. He had to drink all evening till bedtime to put fluids back in his body.

He was quoted as saying this is a problem that's dogged him since high school and that he's had specialists try to figure out what the problem is and they never have found anything wrong. He said he drank so much during the game that his stomach couldn't take anymore. I don't know where SI put the story, but I'm paraphrasing because I couldn't find it.

Hey, i just solved the curse of the Cramping Lebron. Drinking fluids during the game is important but real hydration starts WAY before the game even starts. You have to hydrate well leading up to the game, not start during the game!

And everyone else was in the same conditions. Next.

I'm not saying it's impossible. But it seems extremely improbably that the guy who is possibly the best athlete on the planet is affected by this significantly more than anyone else.

BTW - would he ever say anything other than that?

You guys are so f'ing pathetic.

Congrats on being such a great person that you can rise above this stuff by calling everyone f'n pathetic. Also, congrats on your axe wound.

I'm not the one ripping on a professional athlete to make myself feel better
