Mavric
Brian Rosenthal @HuskerExtraBR 54m Starting safety Nate Gerry says he's been told he will be the #Huskers long snapper on Saturday, in place of injured Gabe Miller. I'm assuming this is just for punts and I don't think he's been working on FG/PAT snaps much. Quote Link to comment

GSG
Brian Rosenthal @HuskerExtraBR 36m As for being maybe a tad undersized to be a long snapper (Gerry is 6-2, 205): "You use your speed, I guess. Speed kills," Gerry said. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Ameer, Westerkamp and Pierson-El returning punts today. Forgive me for wanting Westerkamp out of this equation. I miss the days when a player like Dejuan Groce was back there with the green light to take off after catching punts. And he had the talent to just go off and change field position in a hurry. I'm not going to judge any player we have had back there the last couple of years. When there is zero blocking at the LOS and opposing players are basically in your face when the ball gets to you, it is a recipe for disaster. Give these guys more blocking to slow players down at the LOS and see what happens.Good point. I guess we shall see if our approach has changed. It can't be easy to keep your head with ten unblocked opponents bearing down on you. Quote Link to comment
Abdullah the Butcher
Holy sh#t I didn't realize he was that small, I would just bum rush him everytime, yes someone pointed out you have to give the snapper 1 second to engage but are the refs really going to count? Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Isn't there a rule about lining up over the long snapper? He blocks much less than the other linemen. He is going to release as fast as he can and go kill the guy with the ball. Quote Link to comment

When a team is in scrimmage kick formation, a defensive player may not initiate contact with the snapper until one second has elapsed after the snap (A.R. 9-1-14-I-III). Link Quote Link to comment

A fair catch play called from the sidelines before they line up 8/10 times :/ Quote Link to comment
