Popular Post knapplc
Ameer has class going to midfield after the game After that, he did his interviews, then went over to the student section and thanked them, to a very loud ovation. Then he went to North stadium & did the same thing. I think he even high-fived the cheerleaders. Dude knows where his bread is buttered. He knows this crowd had ENERGY tonight, and the students were leading the way. What else did I learn? That stadium still gets LOUD. Ears are ringing & I have a headache right now. But who cares. Those refs were atrocious. I can't wait to watch the replay of this game. I haven't seen a ref crew lose control of a game like that in years. They should be put on suspension for letting that game get that bad. I learned that the Iron N could be a really neat thing as they continue to grow. The banners were neat, the choreography with the signs was nice, and the tarp was ballin'. Good job, students. Keep it up. I didn't learn, but was reminded, of what is bad about college football. Rampant egotism and lack of sportsmanship is an abomination, and Miami has that in spades. They talked about cheap-shotting our players last week, and they followed through in the game. They talked and talked all week, and in the end they couldn't back it up. And in an utterly classless move, most of them just walked off the field. If you're going to run your mouth, and you get beat, it's simple common decency to congratulate the winner. It's easy. But small-minded people do small-minded things. Our crowd is among the nicest people in the country. We have seen teams beat the hell out of us on our field, break our hearts and ruin our seasons, and still we applaud them off the field. To make a Memorial Stadium crowd boo you as you run off the field is one hell of an accomplishment - but not one to be proud of. Sadly, I think they are proud of that. I learned tonight that I can't imagine why anyone would be a fan of a team like that. 11 Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
That this team is better than many (including my idiot self) have given them credit for. Much remains to be seen, but, they went through the non-conference schedule unblemished. And that is freaking great. There's a lot of folks who have underestimated and it's not uncommon. I think the most inspiring thing Nebraska fans should clearly see from this game was how we responded. This Husker football program has been plagued by let downs when adversity struck If this game didn't show people that this team has the attitude and the mindset to power through the tough times, then I don't know what will. I'm pumped about this win. Phuck Miami. boom. Right on true. I was nervous at the first scuffle. Then when they got the ball inside the 10 i thought the quarter break came at a perfect time cuz the defense made a couple of bigtime plays after that. This was a moment this team has crumbled in so many times the past few years. Staff loses cool. Opponent fets in head. sh#t goes to hell. But not tonight. There is definitely a new influx of attitude and tenacity on this team that weve been missing. 2 Quote Link to comment
Hingle McCringleberry
4 freaking quarters! Played every last one of them, great to see Thugs will be thugs, next year will be wild down there. Miami is so universally hated you could hear the announcers getting behind Nebraska. 4-0 do I dare hope..... Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
Agreed fully. We saw the fight we've been waiting for. Quote Link to comment
ithinkiloverg44
I learned we miss Mike rose but mr roach can plan. Also josh kalu reminds me of dejon gomes. Lastly, if there is a better back in the country bring him to me and I.Will laugh. We are watching the best I have seen and will see for a long time in a Big RED N! Gbr Quote Link to comment
Landlord
I learned that this team is good. I relearned how much fun it can be to be a Nebraska fan on nights like this. I learned that Tim Beck called a hell of a game. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
But, on my part, derp derp derp, I'm just an idiot who says things. But, I do like what I'm seeing out of the skers right now. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
The Iron N is losing their leader after this year (graduation) Quote Link to comment
The King
Banderas should lose about 15 lbs before he can play again. He is slower than hell and not physical either. Its a shame to think what this defense could be with Mike Rose. Randy Gregory is good, real good, and I don't think people appreciate him enough. Miami started running AWAY from him. Finally showed a back bone. Didn't let Miami get into our heads and break us mentally. Ameer is good. Beck called the game he should call every game. Opened up the playbook a little as well. Pelini made good adjustments switching to zone from man early in the game. Finally, I think fans that continue to be worried about fast WRs probably learned that they shouldn't be. All those miami fans told us we should worry about Coley and Dorsett and they did nothing, because once again, we hardly ever get beat deep. Yay 2 high safeties, Brock Guard mentioned this during the game. Our corners are good and Kalu is gonna be a beast. He should be starting soon. There is a reason teams targeted the RB/LB matchup all the time. I'd give Courtney love a look at mike before I throw Banderas out there again. Man was that bad. Miami speed was negligible. LSEHusker
Apparently the crowd was booing miami players because most of them just went off to the locker room without shaking hands at midfield... Being at the game at least in my section it wasnt because of not shaking hands it was because of what a program they have Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Miami speed was negligible. This was honestly my biggest worry in this game (well, that and what goes on between our players' ears), but you're right - they didn't appear faster than us AT ALL. And someone on some Miami publication I read was counting all the recruiting stars they have, and commenting on how we don't. Oops. 1 Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Whoa. Don't appreciate Gregory enough? Then in the same post you say 'Ameer is good'. Lol. They're both dominant badass dudes. We are blessed to be able to watch them on Saturdays representing our team. Gregory took a ton of cheap shots tonight. Ameer is maybe the greatest RB I've ever seen wear the 'N'........that's saying something. I respect the hell out of these guys and I appreciate their dedication to this program. California Husker
Roach has some ability, Banderas does not. I think some midnight egg muffins sounds awesome right now. But Banderas can get you a bike real cheap Quote Link to comment

Also, good post. I didn't mean to pick any negative from your post. Spot on. Also, Miami's speed could have killed us. It was a game where our offense literally saved us. Bo's bend don't break scheme could have been foiled in these types of games in the past but our offense kept answering. We were able to commit to stopping the big play. Quote Link to comment
