BaytownHusker
Fortunately, ILL stinks. So NU should be able to chill some and recover some. NO NO NO. See McNeese St! *nods* All opponents should be treated as top 5 teams. Because if we ease off, they can play as such. Illinois, while a team that struggles, has some solid players. Huskers need to play hard and beat them. So why dont the crown treat every game like a top 5 team. Quote Link to comment
WhatDoIKnow
We need to take every game seriously. I do hope we can limit AA's carries though. I know we want to get him the yards for the Heisman race, but after a 35 carry game, I would like to see him fresh for MSU. I HOPE we can get him the yards early. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
I will be there...West/Northwest side.....I'll be the one standing, in red and shouting. Can't wait!!!! Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
this is going to be a 63-0 game that has us feeling great going into MSU. then the truth will come out. good or bad. I would not be surprised at all if you score 63 on my Illini, but am a little skeptical your defense can get the 0. I'm afraid you are correct. I'm seeing 13 on the scoreboard for the Illini by game end. Quote Link to comment

Things get a little tougher after that. I don't even sweat giving up the first score anymore. And I agree that we will not pitch a shutout. Quote Link to comment

That may work with FAU, or even Miami - but won't against MSU/Wisconsin. Quote Link to comment

It's like we use their first offensive series to see what they are going to do and adjust from there. Quote Link to comment

It's like we use their first offensive series to see what they are going to do and adjust from there. I think a lot of it is a product of how Pelini sets up his defense. They are almost over-prepared for what we're expecting to see. If they stay true to form, we do well. But it takes awhile to adjust to something different. Thus, when we don't know what they're going to do (FAU, McNeese) or they do something different than expected (Miami ran a lot more spread than we expected), they have success early. Fresno was what we expected (and wasn't very good) so we did well. Quote Link to comment

The Illini’s only halftime lead thus far was a 7-6 cushion over Youngstown State. Illinois quarterback Wes Lunt has been terrible in the first quarter — a 51.4 percent completion rate and 4.65 yards per attempt — but nails in the fourth quarter, where he’s completed 82.4 percent of his passes for 11.4 yards per attempt. Don't let them hang around in the second half. Di you mean second quarter Let's start the beatdown early and keep it coming. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
I hope like hell they're taking the "one game at a time" approach and not getting big heads after beating Miami. Don't lose that fire you had during the Miami game either! Illinois has no faith in their team from reading their boards. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Samuel McKewon @swmckewonOWH 1h LB David Santos didn't practice Tues. Brace on his right leg. DCJP can't comment on injury, but said Bando, Roach and Zaire are top 3 LBs. Samuel McKewon @swmckewonOWH 1h Won't know full status of Santos until Thursday when Bo talks. Quote Link to comment
