Ok so... what do Starkville and Oxford have that Lincoln doesn't?

I understand that. My point is that if one of those elite coaches DID come to Lincoln, the top recruits WOULD come.

Again. You create a thread blasting people for having the opinion that location matters a lot in college football recruiting, which, I might add, has been visually proven right before your very eyes, yet you continue to deny it, and then you make an even more absurd claim to opinion such as the above, without any supporting evidence at all.

Come on now. From the mid 90s until Saban arrived, that program was garbage. Saban resurrected it, whether you care to admit it or not, just like he did at LSU.

Garbage eh? That period of ten years that you're describing included three top 10 finishes, SEC championships and BCS bowls.

So you mean to tell me that if Nick Saban came to coach at Nebraska that our recruiting classes wouldn't be Top 5 year in year out??

You mean to tell me that our classes would? You're discrediting people for opinions and then making outlandish statements that are founded completely in conjecture without any actual evidence or support to your claims.

Everything I've said has gone right over your head. My point for this thread was to show that saying that kids don't come to Lincoln, simply because of the weather or the notion that there's nothing to do there, is false. Kids will go wherever there's a proven winning coach. That's my opinion and sticking with it.

As far as talent goes, yes there's much more talent in the south, I agree. Still, I believe that with an established championship-winning HC, those players would come to Lincoln. This isn't the 70s or 80s or 90s anymore.

And as far as Bama's program goes, it was in the gutter when Saban arrived. Shula, and even Franchione and DuBose, were not very successful there, at least not by Alabama standards. LSU was nothing but an average program before Saban came.

Good point. When did TO ever have a top 5 recruiting class, let alone have them yearly?

A great coach can't hurt, but to say that location doesn't play a factor is idiocy at best.

You must not be too informed of TO's offensive philosophies and how recruiting to Nebraska affected that.

If you're content with 9 wins a season in a weak conference, fine. I'm not.

It's actually ten wins a season just as much as it is 9.

Are we still crying about how hard it is to be Nebraska if we win 11 or 12?

Shut up.

What you hussin 'bout?

Nothing. Shut up wasn't directed toward you.....you're my homeboy.

More directed to the boo hoo crowd who will continue to claim Nebraska is at some disadvantage or just isn't capable of competing with these other programs. Of course, til' we win 12 games and then they just kind of shut up and fade away. Win games, cures all. Nebraska is an elite program and theres no reason we shouldn't be in the conversation every year. We are getting closer I think. This staff is coming around. Of course, instead of just admitting that we hired a first time head coach and his inexperienced buddies, we'd rather come up with the vast amount of excuses that have poured out of this fan base the last seven years or more.

We thought this thing was gonna turn around quick. We were wrong. When you think about it, why would it have righted quick? I see progress though. That's the first I've seen in awhile. We just gotta keep getting better and stop with the excuses for Gods sake.
