Joe_5700
What's funny is this.... These same disadvantages existed six years ago, and our facilities were worse The previous coach landed classes that embarrass Bo's and his product completely embarrassed Nebraska... What is your point? Quote Link to comment

What is your point? That we are perhaps blowing out of proportion the damage Callahan did. It certainly isn't a reason why Bo doesn't have a recruiting class that he could be getting or still is without a championship of any kind in 2014. Quote Link to comment

Anyone with half a brain knows that Frank is the one that put this program in the toilet. Look at the "talent level" that he left for the 2004 season. Joe Daily (who was beat out at UNC by a true freshman and had to become a possesion WR) as the only scholarship QB on the roster. No depth on the DL, the only playmaker was Matt Herrian who broke his leg half way through the season. By no means am I exusing Bill for failing here, but he had a huge mountain to climb with the expectaions here, very little talent, and a legend HC and former players who wanted him gone because he wasn't an "Nebraska guy." That is why he was crazy to take this job and why nobody wanted it. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
Could someone explain why Wisconsin has been so competitive the last 10 years? Population, 5 star athletes, not so many, but they seem to figure out a way to win, make it to championships and play good ball most of the time Of all the programs, they seem to be the most like Nebraska, yet for the last ten years seem to have caught and left us behind. A clear identity and mission and a competent coaching staff that recruits to both, then develops the talent. We will see if it continues under the new coach. It appears Bielema has the ship pointed in the right direction after a pretty bad wreck in Arkansas. Quote Link to comment

TheSker
That we are perhaps blowing out of proportion the damage Callahan did. Good point. Two losing seasons and two missed bowls don't really stand out in Nebraska's modern day history. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
Wasn't that one top 5 class propped up by numbers? Like 35 in the class or something like that. Quote Link to comment
