Junior
Contrived and silly. With a name like "Freedom Trophy", I feel like the winners should get control of the other state or something. 4 Quote Link to comment
ScottyIce
Why the constant negativity???? Dang. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
With a name like "Freedom Trophy", I feel like the winners should get control of the other state or something. Seems like that would be the anti-Freedom Trophy. Quote Link to comment

tschu
What a contrived, self-righteous self-congratulatory piece of sh#t. First the Heroes Trophy and now this. 4 Quote Link to comment

Seems like that would be the anti-Freedom Trophy. But then every year you are playing for your state's freedom! It works. Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
Its cooler than a little brown jug... little brown jug has a history and character. It didn't have either the first year it was introduced. Like it or not..this trophy isn't for us, and likely not for our kids. It might mean something to our grandkids...that's the way these things gain history and character...with time. At least it isn't some pig... Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
I would have liked to see an idea including more obvious iconography of the two programs, characteristics like our red jerseys or emphasis on the running game. I could see something like Red Dawn or Running Red. However, at least there is a reason for the current trophy, link. The Freedom Trophy pays tribute to the brave men and women who have fought in our nation’s wars. The University of Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium, built on what was once a Civil War training ground, and the University of Nebraska’s Memorial Stadium, dedicated in honor of our nation’s veterans, stand as proud monuments to those who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom 2 Quote Link to comment
