QMany
Report: SEC, A&M would nix bowl game vs. Texas http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/11/19/report-sec-am-would-nix-bowl-game-vs-texas/ Per the report, the SEC has made it clear to bowl games with SEC-Big 12 tie-ins that the conference “won’t support a Texas vs Texas A&M postseason matchup” because, Brown writes, “A&M has too much to lose from a potential loss.” 1 Quote Link to comment

Stumpy1
That is funny. The Aggies and the rest of the SEC are a joke. They have pussied out of games against Oregon, USC and ND here lately also. A&M needs to get over this little brother syndrome with Texas. It just keeps feeding the fire. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Ahhhh....but they are soon dominant that they should actually be playing in the NFL. Quote Link to comment
QMany
A&M should be more scared of the two other in-state schools that are better than them also. Pu$$ies. Quote Link to comment
tschu
That's coming from Chip Brown, so take it with a pretty large grain of salt 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
It's just funny and frustrating at the same time that it's do obvious what they do with scheduling but the media doesn't care when thru talk about how amazingly dominant they are. Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
Chip Brown also said there was zero chance A&M goes to the SEC. Guy is a moron. SEC decides what bowls teams go to. Theyre just deciding it should be someone else, like Arky. Y'alls obsession with the SEC is kinda sad. Quote Link to comment

If you wanna be the best conference you gotta put up with other fan bases thinking its not true and talking crap. We know this because we were the best and we heard the same stuff we now say about the SEC. Only the SEC does protect itself from getting embarassed. Nebraska at its peak was willing to prove it on field. 1 Quote Link to comment

I mean this is a cute little story about the SEC that people will point to and something that'll make UT fans happy in a crappy season, but there's no reason to take this as anything with a hint of truth especially coming from Chip Brown. Just message board fodder, that's all. Quote Link to comment

Creed
SEC is a pro at molding and protecting its image. It changed with Slive came on board and told each school to quite ratting on their conference mates for recruiting violations - I think most SEC teams were on probation when he took over. Also, they get very favorable bowl match ups - location and playing much lower ranked teams on average. Very few games out of the south east, very few home and home, and many many "neutral site" games for their top programs against mid-level p5 teams to prove they have a good record vs p5 teams. Been several years since we were in the same conference and neither of us is even in that conference. And what's the problem with playing Texas, a 6-6 team with only one quality win all year? I would think a good second tier bowl would be more than happy to fill its stands to capacity with a UT vr T A&M matchup. Only logical assumption is that you are a bunch of Fraidy Cats. Oh, I see you are losing an assistant to Kansas. I guess the rats do desert a sinking ship. That's got to be embarrassing. T_O_B 2 Quote Link to comment
NUance
Seems like aTm would *want* to play the Tejas in a bowl this year. It's a down year for the Whorns. It'd be a chance for aTm to grind them into the turf. It's just weird that they want to avoid playing. Almost like little brother still being afraid of big brother even though little bro has grown bigger and stronger. Then again, the SEC does a masterful job of avoiding even matchups. Just look at their bowl games and offseason games. SEC teams hardly ever face an evenly matched team. Even the middle of the pack SEC teams that aren't that good. Quote Link to comment
