alexhortdog95
Screw just Banker. Fire the hole staff & hire Les Miles. I would love to see him at NU. LSU is making a huge mistake if they let him go. A - He's a hellified Recruiter. B - He CAN coach. C - He drives a Hummer. What more is there NOT to like?!? Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
I thought Orgeron saying he wanted to come here ended up being more of a footballscoop scoop than an actual scoop? It was a direct tweet from Ed Orgeron himself, IIRC. Screw just Banker. Fire the hole staff & hire Les Miles. I would love to see him at NU. LSU is making a huge mistake if they let him go. FYI I'm not really for firing the staff just yet, but a coach like Miles doesn't come around very often. I agree, to a point. I would like to see Banker take a demotion--remember, it seemed that even Riley wasn't sure if he wanted Banker as DC. Bringing in Ed Orgeron, Randy Edsall, or Kevin Steele as a DC would drive the point home that Riley wants to win and would help shore up where we have some of the weakest coaching (save for D-Line) we have on the team. Not to mention two of the three are great recruiters, and the third can make defensive magic happen with 2* kids, duct tape, chewing gum, and a hockey ticket. Quote Link to comment

Elf
I would be very surprised if Riley ever hired Orgeron. Quote Link to comment

Hoosker
Yeah, I mean, ideally you'd like to have Orgeron somewhere on your staff, even if he has a sketchy past with recruiting violations. I'm sure as long as it isn't anything major, we'd be willing to look past it. As far as the DC goes, I would much rather have Kevin Steele. He did, after all, land Tommie Frazier, who turned out alright. He's also spent the last few years at Alabama before coming to LSU. 1 Quote Link to comment

Haspula
Would take him as a DL coach, not DC. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hopefully Banker can land that Hawaii gig so Riley can try and snag Steele. I'd like to believe he would be open to it, if Riley came calling. Quote Link to comment
GOAT
I live in Baton Rouge. Les Miles isn't all that great, I assure you. He sits smack dab in a recruiting hotbed and is usually able to win on talent alone. Unfortunately for him, the other SEC schools have caught up to him, talent-wise. I'm all for bringing in Orgeron, though. Sadly, neither he nor Steele will ever be brought here. Like his predecessor, Riley's loyalty will likely be his downfall. Quote Link to comment

Actually, the past two coaches, if we want to be honest here. Callahan would still be coaching here if he would have jettisoned Cosgrove. Well...that and sitting Keller. Quote Link to comment

Callahan didn't really need to jettison Cosgrove. Cosgrove offered to resign and Callahan could have accepted it but didn't. With the way the fans were treating Cosgrove and his family he should have packed up and left anyway. I would have, some of that stuff was really over the top. Quote Link to comment
