Bowl Projections 11/09/2015 (Now with Nebraska!)

Recommended Posts

Per BTN

BIG TEN BOWLS
Illinois: Foster Farms vs. Oregon
Indiana: Quick Lane vs. Miami (Fla.)
Iowa: Rose Bowl vs. Utah
Michigan: Citrus vs. Florida
Michigan State: Peach vs. Notre Dame
Minnesota: Pinstripe vs. Duke
Nebraska: Armed Forces vs. Air Force
Northwestern: Outback vs. Georgia
Ohio State: Orange Bowl vs. Stanford
Penn State: Music City vs. Ole Miss
Wisconsin: Holiday vs. UCLA

That's actually not a bad matchup for us, to be honest. Plus, it's in Ft. Worth, so it will throw a bone to all of the Nebraska fans in Texass that haven't been able to see a football game in a while.

So yeah, something to hope for. Hope is good.

Nebraska: Armed Forces vs. Air Force

If this is the match up it will interesting seeing how the coaching staff balances short-term goals with long-term goals. I think an extra couple of weeks of traditional practice would really help prepare for the 2016 season and further bond the staff with the players. However, the triple option can be very difficult to stop without the time-consuming preparation of first having some of the coaching staff learn the system, then teaching the scout team how to run it, and then teaching the defense how to stop it. Much of that triple option defensive preparation isn't particularly helpful in the long term for a team playing a B1G schedule.

I'll take any bowl at all right now. Beggars can't be choosers.

Oh I'm begging for Armed Forces Bowl. lol

Ditto.

A bowl game means this team won against an undefeated Michigan State and a more than likely undefeated Iowa.

That'd be quite the turnaround.

Not necessarily. We can make a bowl in certain circumstances if we're 5-7.

And if we go bowling at 5-7...be prepared for our program to be the poster child of what's wrong with the Bowl Season in College Football. Granted, we need the reps, but it's going to suck being a punching bag like that.

Quick Lane Bowl

Ford Field, Detroit

Mon., Dec. 28, 5 p.m. (ESPN2)

Schlabach: NC State vs. Indiana

McMurphy: Virginia Tech vs. Nebraska

Detroit? How did Detroit get a bowl game? Isn't that like having to play the World Cup in Qatar?

I guess that's your punishment for finishing 5-7, you are sent to Detroit over the holidays to think about how the err of your ways.
