The 2016 Republican National Convention

There is plenty of data that gives credence to my statement about Obama being more socialist than anything even remotely close to republican.. I mentioned his upbringing and those around me being communist.

Those are facts... His mentor Frank Marshall Davis is a communist.

http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/15/obamas-influential-communist-mentor/

A new book due out Tuesday makes the case that Frank Marshall Davis, a card-carrying member of the Communist Party, mentored Barack Obama when he lived in Hawaii.

In researching “The Communist,” Kengor combed over Davis’ recently released FBI profile and his voluminous writings to show something many other authors and journalists have either ignored or failed to grasp: Davis was a communist who had an early hand in shaping the future president’s political beliefs.

Now look at this voting record

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=1526

Obama's Overall Record:

In January 2008 the National Journal published its rankings of all U.S. senators -- based on how they had voted on a host of foreign and domestic policy bills -- and rated Barack Obama “the most liberal Senator of 2007.” “Obama’s [foreign policy] liberal score of 92 and conservative score of 7 indicate that he was more liberal in that issue area than 92 percent of the senators and more conservative than 7 percent,” the researchers explained. In the area of domestic policy voting, the study found that “Obama voted the liberal position on 65 of the 66 key votes on which he voted … [and] garnered perfect liberal scores in both the economic and social categories.”

The leftist organization Americans for Democratic Action (ADA) similarly rated Obama’s Senate voting record at 97.5 percent. By contrast, the American Conservative Union (the ADA’s ideological antithesis) gave Obama a rating of 8 percent.

After declaring his presidential candidacy in early 2007, Obama clearly became far more focused on campaigning for his White House run than on performing the legislative duties for which he had been elected to the U.S. Senate. From January 2007 through September 2008, he missed 303 votes (a total of 46 percent of all votes that came before the Senate.

Are you sure you know what the definition of communism is?

please...

Allow me to ask another question. And this is serious. Being that I am an independent, I would like to know how how the last 8 years has negatively impacted YOUR life. Don't speak in generalities. I would like to know specific policies that Obama has supported that has made your life worse today than it was from 2000-2008.

Oh come on.. I am not that into this to get that detailed. I can throw a couple things off the top of my head, which I already know you will wan to further debate.. and I just don't care to debate.. it doesn't matter. You won't change your mind, nor will I.

but off the top of my head.

The worst being Obamacare, then there are a number of economy crippling regulations, that further give the government control.

just a couple samples..

http://dailysignal.com/2015/05/13/excessive-regulation-hurts-americas-entrepreneurs/

The number and cost of government regulations continued to climb in 2014, intensifying Washington’s control over the economy and Americans’ lives. The addition of 27 new major rules pushed the tally for the Obama administration’s first six years to 184, with scores of other rules in the pipeline. The cost of just these 184 rules is estimated by regulators to be nearly $80 billion annually…

Many more regulations are on the way, with another 126 economically significant rules on the administration’s agenda, such as directives to farmers for growing and harvesting fruits and vegetables; strict limits on credit access for service members; and, yet another redesign of light bulbs.

Husker2000 - that last paragraph, are those your personal thoughts and text?

no.. check out the link, you will see.

Gotcha - thanks for the clarity.

No problem... it came from this guy.

This has to be the most uninspiring political convention I have ever witnessed. Usually the attendees are unreasonably giddy and easy to whip into a frenzy. Not here, lucky if 8 people clap at the same time. Of course, I can't blame them, the speakers I have seen have been pretty lackluster and unimpressive and the candidate sure doesn't generate any real excitement. His wife's speech may be the highlight of the whole deal. Sad.

I was watching the news tonight and Trump's co-chair said Clinton should be shot via firing squad (paraphrased).

How in the hell can Trump be this stupid.. It sure gives real credence to the notion of Trump being a plant. Just plain ignorant.

I dispute that he was a plant. It seems far more likely to me that he sought cheap publicity and underestimated just how far his efforts would take him.

Regardless of what you think of Trump, it's hard to argue that he has raised extremely impressive children. I was really wowed by Donald Trump Jr last night, but I think Eric Trump was even better tonight. It will be interesting to see how Ivanka does tomorrow.

I also think Pence has given one of the best VP speeches I have seen in a long time, better than Ryan in 2012, Palin and Biden in 2008, Edwards in 2004, and on... While he filled some of the traditional attack dog role in attacking Hillary, he also did a great job of introducing himself to the American people, explaining his record as Indiana governor, and articulating what the vision that Trump has for this country, and he did so with a pleasant yet direct tone. Most importantly, he succeeded the litmus test voters have in wondering if they can see him as POTUS should anything ever happen to Trump.

I kind of liked Pence's speech. Didn't know much about him before and thought he was somewhat of a boring pick for VP. Figured Trump just wanted a Joe Biden type that would be quiet and stay out of the way. However, he seems to be everything Trump is not and that can't be a bad thing. Now I can't understand why he said yes to the Donald. Cruz even sounded fairly good tonight. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about him not specifically endorsing Trump. It certainly wasnt the back stabbing mutiny so many in the media are portraying it as. Will be interesting to see how much damage Donald inflicts on his campaign tomorrow night when he gets his yapper going. Are there any groups he has not already alienated? Guess we'll find out Thursday night.

I do wonder how much he had to do with raising them ... I'd give more credit to his ex wives (for instance I know that youngest Tiffany saw him very rarely as they lived out west), and or he had some "terrific, amazing" nannies.

I highly doubt it too.. probably more of a case of just not understanding or maybe even not wanting to conform to what others think. Some posters in this forum have shown that they don't like it when you don't conform to what they think you should do.

lol thanks guys.. you made my point very nicely.

Don't worry it goes both ways, like I said in my post.

I don't think you understand who you're talking to. You've called literally every poster here a liberal save for 2 or 3 who agree with you. JJ is about as conservative as it gets here and that's what you've labeled him. I strongly disagree with him on many issues and have had tiffs with him, but he's down right pleasant and reasonable compared to your demeanor. BRB is a moderate who leans right (I would say your typical Nebraskan politically) and you've labeled him a liberal. He's someone, more than occasionally, I've disagree with but I have the utmost respect for. Guy has been fairly right of center as well, and you've bestowed the label on him as well. Maybe it's not them that are so far from the center...

Show me where I labeled anyone a liberal, especially JJ and Guy! You throw a fit about facts but yet spew this crap? You go on the attack with every post I make, whether it involved you or not, but have the nerve to say something about my demeanor?

Speaking of guy.. I called his post ludicrous, that isn't an attack on him, that is attacking his post.

My apologies you never called those posters liberals, or anyother poster such labels. I lumped you in with the "others" I was talking about. You just insinuate the label, and label the sources as liberal. Sorry about that.

I honestly don't care about personal attacks. That's the mods thing.

lol, go figure, liberals not thinking links are credible, while they, in-turn, link to VOX as credible, or any other number of liberally biased sites...

Have you ever not been wrong?

Seriously stop labeling people who have a different opinion than you and listen to what they have to say you mayearn something. I know I learn things on here all the time. VOX is a pretty cresible site that gives a plethora of data to back its articles up. Don't be so close minded.

Vox is the epitome of liberal. I am not surprised you think it is credible!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vox_(website)

Vox is an American news website run by Vox Media, founded by liberal columnist Ezra Klein and launched in April 2014. Key contributors include Matthew Yglesias, Dylan Matthews, Max Fisher, Melissa Bell and Sarah Kliff. Its signature feature is the reusable, wiki-like "card stack", which provides context and key definitions related to an article topic.

http://www.snopes.com/2016/07/15/harvard-study-officer-involved-shootings/

The New York Times inaccurately reported an unvetted working paper as a Harvard study that disproved the claim black people are shot by police at a higher rate than whites.

There you go. Snopes does a pretty thorough job here in its coverage.

Well, that settles it.. snopes says it is false. Snopes, one of the more liberal sites, quickly tries to disprove this study by saying it was unvetted.. Not the least bit surprised

I was watching the show cops tonight and every person of race.. be it hispanic, black, whatever, continuously fought the police at every corner.. and not just a little bit. Just a constant barrage of hate and threats.

So, if Trump is being labeled as a person that is fostering hate, what does that make the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?

Hey you guys, all of the non-White people on the show Cops continuously fight the police and make hateful/threatening remarks. This is so alarming I can't even fathom it. That must mean all non-Whites are racist and hateful toward cops! Surely the subjects of an episode of Cops are representative of their respective populations as a whole. Now let's pick the first two Black people we can think of and blame them for this!

Now let's not assume that the fact it's a show about Cops arresting people means these people are not exactly upstanding citizens, nor should we assume that the stuff that makes it on TV is the most controversial/entertaining. That'd just be crazy.

This is the post of the year right here.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem, or do you have an agenda? I clearly said "every person of race" (are whites no longer a race?) I then went on to say .."be it hispanic, black, whatever,"!

This did not in anyway exclude whites!!

lol. You specifically mentioned Hispanics, Blacks, Jesse James, and Al Sharpton.

So, because I didn't list out every race then I'm being racist, even though I mentioned every race? Yes, I mentioned Jesse and Al because they are two specific cases of two very outspoken critics of the police and are spreading hate.

Is this the liberal mindset? Trump is spreading hate (according to the liberals) and must be stopped, but Jesse and Al are ok? Who are also spreading hate..

You took this to another level (suggesting racism) because of your agenda.
