Schumer should get 0 blame here. Pelosi and Schumer both backed McConnell’s bill that would have kept the full government open. Then conservative pundents made fun of Trump and he decided suddenly that he wouldn’t support it. Now Republicans refuse to override his veto. This is a point that shouldn't be overlooked: The government has been shut down for over a month because the president didn't like what Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh were saying about him. 3 Link to comment

Just as the Judiciary can rein in either of the other two branches with their rulings, so can the Legislative branch rein in the Executive 3 Link to comment

knapplc
This is a little far out there, but this person theorizes that Trump's crazy comments about the border are coming from a movie. The thread is kinda funny, kinda scary, and at least a little bit plausible. 2 Link to comment

One thing of note, the prayer rugs that Trump mentioned were first brought up by a rancher that claimed he found them on his property. So it's conceivable that Trump took his info from a farmer that watched Sicario. Which, now that I think of it, is way worse than watching the movie on his own. 2 Link to comment

Moiraine
A non guilty and/or non stupid person whose underlings are accused of collusion/attempted collusion doesn’t scream “no collusion” and then get upset when one of said underlings gets raided by the FBI. He should want the bastards’ heads if they did this stuff under his nose. 2 Link to comment
