I understand the logic behind wanting to test the other changes. This one just seems over thought. It's basically a test of playing quarters without actually playing quarters. If they changed to quarters (like EVERY other basketball league in the universe), they would be 10 minutes & every foul after 5 would be two shots. Since they haven't figured out media timeouts with 10 minute quarters, they are doing it this way. Quote Link to comment

Quarters but also changing to the NBA-style rule of having the fouls reset every quarter instead of every half and eliminating the 1-and-1. Quote Link to comment
cheekygeek
Managing the changes in the NIT Rules for this year will be interesting to watch (from the coaching standpoint). Who can adjust and use the rules changes to their advantage? They better be doing so already in PRACTICE. Quote Link to comment

The word is "seeded". Nebraska's RPI is 93. Creighton's is 60 and Seton Hall's 62. If you are complaining about Indiana, whose RPI is currently 99, consider that Indiana went 4-1 in their last 5 games, including wins against Wisconsin and Michigan State. I think any objective person would rank them ahead of Nebraska, at this point (RPI telling only part of the story). Quote Link to comment
Huskers93-97
That’s how you know the NIT is pointless when they test new rules for the games Quote Link to comment
