It's an intense, but nerdy, subculture.

I "coached" speech for a year, basically just because they needed someone to help out and because they paid me to do.

Now, it was brutal, sitting at some HS for 8-10 hours on a Saturday...BUT...watching those speech kids during their free time was amazing.  The groping, making out, the banter, the put downs, the positive reinforcement of things that would clearly get them bullied anywhere but speech, the ill fitted clothes that the guys clearly borrowed from their Dad, the hair colors the piercings.

I even got to witness a speech bully.  This kid would take off his nice shirt and just wear a wife beater with a big a$$ gold chain, he would shake up his teammates sodas without them knowing in the hope that they would open it and it would spray all over them.  He would throw fake punches at people to make them flinch.

I could not stop watching this kid.

  Our gambling measures in Colorado were "Do we allow local communities to determine their max bets on games?" and "Do we allow churches and charities to have raffles and Bingo to make money?"

I voted yes to allow them to have unlimited bets and determine their own games. The other one, raffles and bingo, was a little more complicated. It would allow the charity to sub out the process and pay somebody else to run their fundraisers. I voted no on it as I know too many people that used bingo for sports teams etc. and it took a lot of effort but was very lucrative. If they want to make that kind of money then they can damn well work for it

I don't even gamble but I voted for it because it's dumb as sin to think we'll have more gambling problems because we have a casino in Omaha instead of Counciltucky.

Amen!

And this weird idea that gambling leads to hookers and the mob...

You know where hookers don't hang out?  By casinos in the midwest where old a$$ men and women are gambling and there is security all over...

Trust me, I have looked for them, can't find em.
