The military has always been a logistical disaster. We've wasted billions on tanks, trucks, and planes we don't need. If we didnt start this war on a lie, none of our military would have been killed over there. The taliban didnt do 9/11. It was a BS war to begin with. Blame the US military industrial complex and their greed for those unneeded deaths. Afghanistan wasn't a lie (Iraq was). The Taliban harboured AQ and Bin Laden. That's why we invaded. Yes, the majority of the terrorists were Saudi and that shouldn't have gone unchecked, but if somebody sucker punches you and runs off to his buddy's flat you don't go to his mom's house and hope he comes back there. 3 Link to comment

It's sad that you try to equate everything as status quo as not to shift from your narrative. But yes, this has been a disaster for 20yrs. Check the history of this thread, I've been saying consistently that this 20yr engagement was a s#!t show from the start. Current events during a withdrawal make it even worse. Stop being contradictory for the sake of being contradictory. 2 Link to comment

BigRedBuster
This is an epic fail by so many. There are so many to spread the blame around to. But, I still lay the majority of blame on the Afghan government, Afghan military and the Afghan people. At some point, they have to stand on their own. Yes, there is blame to go around in our government, all the way to the top. But, ultimately, it's up to them to make their country what they want it to be. 1 Link to comment

July 8th 2021 Reporter: Is the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan now inevitable? Biden: No, it is not. Because you have the Afgan troops have 300,000 well equipped as any in the world. And an Air Force against something like 75,000 Taliban. It is not inevitable. - Reporter: Your own intelligence community has assessed that the Afgan government will likely collapse... Biden: That is not true. Reporter: Is it? Can you please clairfy what they have told you about whether that will happen or not? Biden: That is not true. They did not, they didn't did not reach that conclusion. 1 Link to comment
BigRedBuster
We have issues at home we need to be spending money on. Some of them are bi partisan like infrastructure. We care constantly told we don't have money to do these things. But, we then constantly increase the military budget to astronomical levels. It''s INSANE what we spend on our military and that's not even counting the lives that are lost or totally screwed up because we have military personnel in places like Afghanistan doing things that their own government and military should be doing. We then go to public events and everyone's supposed to be patriotic and have patriotism towards out military rammed down our throats. Nobody is supposed to question any of it....we are just supposed to be good patriotic Americans and keep pumping trillions of dollars into the military to stay in places like this. We need OUT of places like this. If the world feels they need to go fix Afghanistan, it needs to be a world effort and other countries can pitch in one hell of a lot to do it. I'm sick and tired of Americans being criticized from around the world and within our borders because we don't want out military doing this anymore. 3 Link to comment
