One thing all the fans can agree on is our ST play has been horrific at best. Even getting them to "less than average" has got to get us 1-2 wins more.  Having a guy like CTB on ST is huge.  I love it.  I hate it.  If he excels, the staff look like geniuses on par with Beamer Ball.  If he gets hurts....The dumbest staff ever.  I do like the idea of the starters playing on ST.  It shows the importance and gets our best athletes on the field.  Anyone know what the more successful teams starter rate on ST is?  What our rate has been?

When

It's wild how good Pelini was at special teams. I think we all really took that for granted.

I think we have all taken it for granted for decades.  I'v been a Husker fan for a very long time.  I don't ever remember a time when we had so much problems on ST.  It is an area I believe will be vastly improved this year.

The biggest complaint I can even come up with 5 to 25 years ago was Sandro De Angeles/David Dyches had a problem of shanking medium range important field goals.

Was going to say.. I'm not convinced "good" special teams w/ Bo was anything more that amazing luck having access to  2 great field goal kickers.

We had some good punters too. Ameer's freshmen year he was an good returnman and housed a kickoff.

He also attached some importance to it - I don't think many teams have a kickoff specialist on scholarship, and that worked out well for us until that one time it didn't.
