Mavric
I, for one, am elated that everyone will be completely satisfied now that we are putting the proper emphasis on special teams. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Quote Cam Taylor-Britt with an excellent day in coverage - including an interception on a go route against Levi Falck - and a role as NU’s top kickoff returner, as Alante Brown is injured. Will Nixon was also returning kickoffs. OWH Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Sounds like CTB and Oliver Martin were the first until of kick returners. Nixon and Zach Weinmaster were the second group. Quote Link to comment

Even getting them to "less than average" has got to get us 1-2 wins more. Having a guy like CTB on ST is huge. I love it. I hate it. If he excels, the staff look like geniuses on par with Beamer Ball. If he gets hurts....The dumbest staff ever. I do like the idea of the starters playing on ST. It shows the importance and gets our best athletes on the field. Anyone know what the more successful teams starter rate on ST is? What our rate has been? Quote Link to comment

It is an area I believe will be vastly improved this year. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

The biggest complaint I can even come up with 5 to 25 years ago was Sandro De Angeles/David Dyches had a problem of shanking medium range important field goals. Quote Link to comment

I'm not convinced "good" special teams w/ Bo was anything more that amazing luck having access to 2 great field goal kickers. Quote Link to comment

Ameer's freshmen year he was an good returnman and housed a kickoff. Quote Link to comment

He also attached some importance to it - I don't think many teams have a kickoff specialist on scholarship, and that worked out well for us until that one time it didn't. Quote Link to comment
