hskrfan4life
If Abdullah finishes 2nd or 1st in rushing ever at Nebraska but never wins a championship, how do you think he will be remembered long term?I think he will still be remembered for his consistency. Hopefully we cane win a championship so he can be remembered for that also. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
If Abdullah finishes 2nd or 1st in rushing ever at Nebraska but never wins a championship, how do you think he will be remembered long term? He only needs about 900 yards to pass Ahman Green for second. He has a really good chance at that. Quote Link to comment

OH HSKR FAN
Part of me wants to see him break the record but a bigger part of me wants to see his carries get reduced. Need to develop some depth going into next year. Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 1h Ameer needs 1804 to catch Rozier. Averaged 130 a game last year. Say he keeps pace and leads #Huskers to B1G title game. 130 x 14 = 1820. Not many can say they had this opportunity. It's within reach if everything falls into place.I really hope he can break the record. He really deserves it, especially having to follow up one of the most beloved Huskers ever.Taylor Martinez??? Touchdown Tommie
If Abdullah finishes 2nd or 1st in rushing ever at Nebraska but never wins a championship, how do you think he will be remembered long term? He only needs about 900 yards to pass Ahman Green for second. He has a really good chance at that. Think of how many yards Green would have had if he was not out after the first half/early 3rd quarter because the Huskers were destroying everyone?! If he passes Rozier, it will be quite the accomplishment though. To get the amount of yards he has with the patchwork line and lack of consistency on the line over the years is impressive. Stumpy1
If Ameer passes Rozier in yardage, he will probably be winning an award or 2. Might not be the hypesman, but possibly a couple other ones. Quote Link to comment

A friend of mine had this conversation a couple days ago. He said that no matter what Ameer wouldn't be in the top 5 of RB's all time at Nebraska. I respectfully disagreed. Quote Link to comment

kchusker_chris
If Abdullah finishes 2nd or 1st in rushing ever at Nebraska but never wins a championship, how do you think he will be remembered long term? Long term, I think it will be tied more to Pelini. Unfortunate to say so because what he's done here has been pretty solid. However, if Pelini goes on to win a championship in the next 4-5 years...many will look back on this year as a stepping stone to those championships and thus will associate Ameer as one of the building blocks to Pelini's eventual success. If Pelini flames out and drops a 6-7 loss season here soon and gets fired, Ameer will be a small bright spot in a period of Husker football marked by fan division and mediocrity. Lord holds the single season rushing yardage for QBs by a wide margin, Ganz and Taylor are the two best passing QBs in the history of Nebraska, Ganz holding the 2nd highest QB rating. Swift was probably one of the best WR's ever, with Purify having a pretty solid argument to be included in there as well. Ruud was one of the better LBers obviously, but not many talk about Demorrio Williams. All guys near the top in their respective categories but their accomplishments are overshadowed by the teams they played on, and the era's they played in. I think Ameer will end up being the worst case of this, with TMart right up there as well. Both's legacies hinge on Pelini's near future achievements, or lack thereof. Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
You put Ameer behind the 95 line or 97 line, or any good to great o-line, Ameer hits 2000 last year. I think it's absurd that he has to rely so much on vision so early in the play development rather than downfield a couple yards. Ameer's skill set is pretty outstanding if you really break it down. Mavric
Dan Hoppen @danhoppen 2h With 120 carries, Ameer Abdullah will break Mike Rozier’s Nebraska career record of 668. Should have it by midseason. Incredible durability. Quote Link to comment

I broke this down by number of games scenario: 12 games and no bowl: Needs to average 150 per game to pass Rozier 12 games and a bowl: 139 avg. 12 games+CCG+bowl/1 playoff game: 128 avg. 12 games+CCG+ 1 playoff+NC: 120 avg.
