MyBloodIsRed16
If the new DC hired switches to a 3-4, who on the current roster plays which positions? 1 Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
We don't have a NT.... Quote Link to comment
Huskinator
Not all nose tackles need to be huge. They can be big tough guys..... the twins are both very tough Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Biggest problem with switching to a 3-4 is most of the DEs we've recruited in the past couple years don't fit anywhere. Too small to play DE and probably not athletic enough to play OLB. That would be King, Miller, Natter, Stille and Neal. Maybe they could bulk up enough to play DE but they'd have work to do. You'd have to bulk up at least one guy to play NT. I'll say Khalil Davis for argument's sake. Then Freedom, Carlos Davis and Stoltenberg wouldn't be bad DEs. Not sure where you'd find another NT. Maybe Newell? At LB we wouldn't be bad. Weber, Ferguson and Quayshon Alexander in the middle. Newby, Young and Gifford on the outside. Barry, Simmons, Jefferson and maybe Avery Roberts to fill in. Alex Davis would probably be one current DE who could move to LB. 1 Quote Link to comment

MyBloodIsRed16
That was the first position I had thought of. I guess it depends on what they are asking the NT to do. Mick S is big but taller than a normal nose. He isn't as quick but I felt he performed better while getting double teamed than Davis. But the Davis twins are quicker so if there is freedom for the nose I would go with one of them Quote Link to comment
ithinkiloverg44
Neal and A Davis could make a killing at OLB. Neal back at Central weight would be menacing. JMO Quote Link to comment

huskerfan92
Our DT's will be eating a lot this offseason... Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
Makes Damion Daniels a big time focus for us I'd guess. Quote Link to comment
HuskerMav11
I always felt like a 3-4 defense does a better job of stopping the run. It does require a big guy at nose and some OLBs that are quick, but I think it's an easier scheme to understand. It'll be interesting to see how it works out. Quote Link to comment
Red_Payne
I know pro's is different than College; but i've seen MANY varying sizes of DL in a 3-4 front in the NFL. JJ Watt is the best DE in 3-4 and is sub 300 lbs, yet, I've seen front's where all three guys were 320+. I think the skill set a player has is more important than the actual size. 2 Quote Link to comment

He seems to have pretty quick feet just don't know how fast he is and if he can play in space Quote Link to comment
