The Republican Utopia

Recommended Posts

On the face of it, that looks pretty bad from the Senator's office. But I'd like to know how civil this guy's interactions with the Senator's staff have been before totally throwing the Senator under the bus.

The bar is high for the Senator's office to show that this guy is such a distraction and/or danger that they have to bar him from contact.

it was sent to more than 1 person if i am reading it right

Lest we think that Trump is some kind of aberration, Trump IS the Republican Utopia. At least, so far.

President Donald Trump gets a negative 41 - 52 percent job approval rating from American voters, as 49 percent of voters say his speech to the U.S. Congress last week was better than expected, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.

Today's job approval rating compares to a negative 38 - 55 percent approval rating in a February 22 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

There are wide party, gender and racial divisions in today's approval rating:

  • Men approve by a narrow 49 - 45 percent while women disapprove 58 - 34 percent;
  • Republicans approve 91 - 5 percent. Disapproval is 89 - 5 percent among Democrats and 52 - 41 percent among independent voters;
  • White voters approve by a narrow 49 - 45 percent, while non-white voters disapprove 68 - 23 percent.

Seems that McCain and Romney were too stately and dignified for the GOP to really rally behind.

They needed a reality show tv star that wants to date his own daughter and is endorsed by the Klan to unify them.

Well here ya go - we should really be proud that this "check and balance" is as bad as the toll sitting on Pennslyvania Ave. After watching today's press conference w/Merkel, seeing Spicey fight England on wiretapping apologies, watching the Irish speak so eloquently about what America used to be, I am just horrified, embarrassed and am putting head to pillow.

Libertarian perspective.

Many of you will recognize that I am describing the famous Laffer curve. And the Laffer curve is absolutely right -- for some effective tax rates. It has not, however, turned out to be correct for the tax rates actually prevailing in the United States during the later postwar era. Relatively modest decreases from modest tax levels do not increase economic growth enough to offset the losses from the lower tax rate, at least not in the short or medium term. In fact, they may not increase economic growth at all.
