Frost top 20 class in 2019? Yes, according to the data

Recommended Posts

Current head coaches. Transition class vs full cycle. The majority of active head coaches did better with their first full cycle than their transition class. That isn't a surprising stat, but how consistent it is across the country regardless of location and conference gets your attention.

Chances are very good that Frost will bring in a recruiting class that will be in the top 20 for 2019 NSD. If that does happen, it will be +7 average spot improvement (or better) over Riley's classes. Meaning, significantly better talent would be coming to Nebraska.

So its not out of the question we would make a jump to the top 15. Perhaps the only restriction would be the size of the class next year.

If we have a good year I guarantee we will be top 15.

Would like to see ratings based on the average player rating increase/decrease.  Rankings don't mean much when comparing classes because they aren't apples to apples.  Some teams are higher ranked because of a larger class, etc.  Quality vs quantity would be a better metric, IMHO.

247 takes that into account. This year, USC and Clemson are ranked #4/#6 with only 19 and 17 commits. Notre Dame is at 10 with 27 commits and a .90 average, so you know it is all about quality and not just size.

We were #22 this year.

Top 20 is a pretty lame goal. But like others are saying, the count matters. If we only want 15, it'll be harder to get a high rank.

I'd like to see us get close to the top 10, but I don't think we will get in it, but maybe after our sixth national title we'll be in the top ten for some time afterward.  ;)
