  1. Past hour
  2. Miami is now an AAU school. They also are the largest TV market of any non SEC/B1G school. That bodes well for an invite to the B1G if the ACC lawsuits are won by Clemson, FSU and now UNC. We'll see how important two factors are in B1G expansion soon. Will the B1G choose AAU Miami or non-AAU FSU? Both bring the Florida TV market. Secondly the question is how interested is the B1G in Clemson when 2 AAU schools (G. Tech & UNC) are also in a shared TV market. Does the B1G take Clemson and only UNC/G Tech? Regardless, the ACC is gone. The ACC GOR is barely standing now and ESPN is considering a negate of their contract which essentially ends the GOR. The FSU lawsuit has had two huge wins in their fight with the ACC and North Carolina now joining the party of "time to move on" just weakens the ACC position even further. I fully expect 2025 to be the final year of the ACC as we know it. Notre Dame will most certainly be the next entry along with Stanford (who hasn't yet signed the GOR) and might be accepted before the year ends. If that happens it will cause the ACC to scramble like never before. Sad days are coming for those like me that are totally against this destruction of years and years of tradition.
  3. You won't even find lefties who understand how crucial every seat in the Senate is that would dare defend him at this point. He's just laughably corrupt on the scale of Trump or Netanyahu. He's apparently getting ready to chuck his wife under the bus to try to save himself. About the only person you could find who would stick up for him at this point is a mysterious stranger known as Schmob Schmenendez.
  4. Today
  5. OK...that's great. But, I still think we need to concentrate on winning something NOW and not count on that.
  6. Tariffs have their place. I know of some industries where China is using predatory pricing and subsidizing the industry heavily so they can flood the US market and take out US manufacturing of finished goods. That I understand. Then, we buy some raw materials from China and China is the only place it's made in the world. There's tariffs on those products from the Trump era. That's stupid.
  7. ESPN has the Huskers in the "First Four Out" in their latest bracketology. Eleven B1G teams + three in first four out (including Nebraska). NCAA Bracketology: 2025 March Madness men's field predictions (espn.com)
  8. I don't think the vote is binary. I think the muslims in deerborn won't vote for either. No matter how much fence riding and playing both sides biden does, they aren't voting for him. And trump never had their vote. They'll remain uncommitted.
  9. You can't say that.. There is a reason Nebraska is the highest seeded 2. Sears and McConaughey pose a problem to any team they face and in the regional a team can win it throwing 3 arms only. Currently we are projected as the 2 seed in the Indiana State series.. Husker Nation will blow that stadium up and yes, we'll have a high HIGH chance of advancing if Sears wins his start. The #8 seed is projected to be East Carolina and in a stadium like theirs.. you bet anything can happen. So.. to say "it's not like we expect to go deep" is simply not true. I expect Nebraska to reach the super and from there anything can happen.
  10. Tariffs are indeed economically stupid but very popular in the Rust Belt states he's relying on to try to win a second term. About the most generous take I saw on this was that Congress is so hopelessly broken when it comes to bipartisanship that there are extremely few levers we can actually pull without requiring something like new trade pacts or passing actual legislation so he's trying to pull one available to him to hurt them even if it hurts us. But it's for sure going to hurt us. It's times like this I wish our government actually kind of... worked for us?
  11. My son has commencement on Friday. Can't wait to see what nonsense will happen. His school is historically Jewish.
  12. Somebody reminded Jokic that he should just go ahead and be unstoppable.
  13. Colleges will be done for the year in a week. Once those campuses are all but empty for the summer the protesting stuff will die down considerably. I suppose the question is if they will start back up NEXT school year, which would be prime election/debating time. But again, we are probably talking about a very small % of voters.
  14. Because the press isn't liberal, it's conservative. There've been 100 stories about this guy that would have buried any other candidate, but the press protects him. They play him off like everything he does is normal politics.
  15. What a pathetic party the GOP, opps, MAGA party has become. Forced to bow at the feat of a criminal con artist.
  16. Agree that it makes no logical sense, and that's why I hate predicting things. The people who fear Trump will be voting for the guy who's not Trump. And while it's hard for some of us to believe, perhaps just as many Americans consider Joe Biden a total nightmare and Donald Trump somewhere between Less So and Gift From God. So when it comes to an issue like Gaza, we don't look at the unfolding disaster itself but whether it helps or hurts Biden or Trump. That's pretty broken in my book. If you look at the polling, Joe Biden's problems cross a lot of demographics having little to do with college students and Gaza. My guess is that the loudest protestors weren't likely to vote for Joe Biden prior to October 7, and would simply be counted on to be non-voters or among the 1.5 million who went for Jill Stein rather than Hillary Clinton in 2016. Robert Kennedy Jr. likely wields the larger Protest Vote stick this year, and that seems like all kinds of broken, too. It's still May. Protestors are protesting against what's happening right now, and using their votes as leverage. In November they will have a clear binary choice as to which President will be better for the people of Gaza, if that is indeed their single-issue cause. Or they might look up and consider the multitude of lives the wrong President can f#&% up. Can't say how that will all turn out because of....you know....all the no logical sense.
  17. On Semiconductors?? Aren't we kind of dying for more of those???
  18. Stupid. It's idiotic to have tariffs on raw materials.
  19. Buyuktuncel is currently at BYU. Only other scheduled visit is Nebraska later this week. Be great to reel in this guy since we need underclassmen to balance the roster a bit.
  20. Correct, try to get conference crown and push for conference tournament. They have played above predictions, but finish it with some form of title….make a regional and stick around as long as possible
  21. Saturday, December 21st 2024 NFL has 2 games (Fox and NBC) CFP has 3 games (ESPN/ABC)
  22. With this team, I hope the staff takes the "balls to the wall" approach. Then, let the postseason fall however it falls. It's not like we expect to go deep into the NCAA tourney. Do whatever you can to win something NOW.
  23. You may be right, but I was hearing yesterday that they would not bring Sears back on only 4 days rest. MM would have less rest. I guess it depends on how deep they go vs MSU
